Changes coming to tier pricing and rules next month
Added 2022-10-31 22:15:43 +0000 UTCI have been mulling for a while as to whether or not I should alter my pricing to change the prices on the bronze tier. A lot of other creators had eliminated $1 benefits after patreon changed their fee structure but I held onto it for a while, even though the $1 tier only translates to a few cents a month for me.
There is another unrelated reason why I'm going to be making the change though, and that's to cut down on the number of burner accounts, or at least getting a more fair contribution from them. With voting access set to only $1, it's too easy right now for people to spend a few extra dollars on burner accounts to get extra votes, and this is an issue that affects a lot of creators on Patreon. I may lose some backers over this change but it's something that I think has to be done.
Also, effective in November, I'm having a cooldown on sketch suggestions involving peoples' OCs because it's getting difficult to keep up with them. I might lift the cooldown in the future but for now I need a break from it because it's becoming too much like doing commission work but for less pay. Well known OCs like ones from other artists will be exempt with approval.
