[Fan Art] Miku Hatsune - redraw trend ✨

Hello dear patrons! ♡

For May's last illustration I decided to do the Miku figure redraw that's been going around lately. I consider this to be a kind of special drawing because of 2 reasons:

1st, it being my first ever drawing of Miku in my life 😳
and 2nd, because it's also the first time in a long time that I've gone out of my comfort zone while trying out new drawing tecniques. Well, coloring techniques in this specific case!

Aside from the outline for the face, hand and the eyes, the entire drawing was done without initial line art or base color, just with brush strokes. I'm not sure if many will notice this change, but coloring the hair directly with brush strokes is something I've wanted to achieve for many years, but was always too afraid to even try it out because it's so different to my usual process that I wouldn't know how to proceed if I tried (or so I thought). I used very few layers and mostly painted over and over again until I liked how it turned out. So I think that's why this drawing is special to me hehe... I hope you guys like the result. I'll be practicing this new style from now on and trying to find a perfect blend with my current coloring style until I'm proud of it!
