This is an early sketch. The based animals that inspired it are the Jewel scarab beetle, Hercules Beetle, Luna Moth, Dorcus hopei, and the Metallic Stag Beetle.
I tried coloring it similar to the original animal, but it turned out more colorful than I intended, so I changed it to white and pink to keep the colors more restrained as I originally intended.
I designed it with foil sticker sheets in mind, and I'm thinking of using rose gold or gold foil for the foil part. The one of best colors to make it look shiny would be black and white.
But I also want this painting to look good online. I can add some animation effects to make it look shiny even digitally. And I can later add emotions or text and include them in my GIF sticker pack.
At first, I tried to give the movements in order, but that would use too many frames, and as the file size increased, the image quality deteriorated. So I finished it with 24 frames.
Now, I'm going to work on making a foil sticker sheet based on this π
