This episode is the Beginning of the End of Breaking Bad because with the death of that little boy Jessie changes. For the rest of the show to the very end we have a different, harder, more desperate, dark Jessie. Walt also shows his descent in evil with his cold rationalization of the little boy's death.

Can you imagine an episode starting out so grim and also making us laugh with the Jesse table scene? Can't wait for you to get to the S5 mid-season finale next week. AMC did such a good job in hyping it up -- this was before it was all on Netflix, of course -- AMC would live-broadcast a Breaking Bad marathon starting out early in the day and leading up to the season finale in the evening. (Does anyone have cable TV anymore?) Millions of people would be anticipating the episode at the same time and watching "together"... I really kinda miss these types of events, as Amazon/Netflix/Hulu just dump an entire season at a time of new shows, but maybe I'm just old-fashioned. Anyway, there's a mid-season finale with ep 8 -- with a year in between -- and then a series finale with ep 16, in case you didn't know.

That Jesse dinner is something else. I understand it's one of Aaron Paul's favorite scenes. I don't have to tell you it's going to get crazy. When you watch the first few episodes of season one, you can really see the contrast of what Walter White has become. It's jarring. It's good character pacing. And to think that that they were going to kill Jesse off in the first season...Considering he's a drug manufacturer/pusher, he seems to be the only one with a conscience/heart, though Mike knows when to call it quits.
