Dragon's Eye Minimap 0.1

Hi guys! The minimap mod is finally in its beta phase. On top of enemies I've added guards and characters that will aggro to the player when approaching.

In the next release I will add several configuration options.

The mod is compatible with all latest Skyrim SE Steam versions from 1.5.97 to 1.6.640. Maybe also GOG version 1.6.659, but I don't have a way to test that version.

Requirements: Address Library for SKSE Plugins, Infinity UI 2.0.1

Don't hesitate to report any issues, I will try and sort them asap. And as always, enjoy! :)

Bug fixing is not like adding features... Solving CTDs, freezes and weird things happening requires time and user help. Specially when I'm not able to reproduce them with my setup. Once I fix the major bugs, updates will be fast. I could post my progress hitting my head against the wall, but I think that you would not find that appealing lol

Ah, darn. Oh well. I'll keep the subscription and watch it. Just because it doesn't support it now doesn't mean it won't be updated eventually. I miss having a decent minimap.

I'm for the most part impressed though as others have reported it messes with scrolling in menus. Side note, I'm using scrolling speed and ever time I change my speed it affects my minimap

You need to downgrade to an earlier version of Skyrim, the update broke a lot as per usual. I'd recommend version 1.6.640

Guess this author has abandoned his work, which is a shame since it is one of the most in-demand mods for AE from what I can tell. Does the beta version have any configuration options at all or are you stuck with the giant box on screen all the time?

Major bug with meshes turning invisible - Example - load up beyond reach mod, coc reachstart, walk to where the intro guy is and massive chunks of land missing. This happens all over the place. Looking back at comments, looks like this was abandoned since no replies from modauther in 4+ months. Bought sub for this - will cancel for now and check back later if he picks it back up

I am using NordicUI and this mod disables my scroll wheel when using the interface. IE, scrolling down inventory, scrolling through the main menu options, etc. I have to use my arrow up and arrow down to move through lists.

From what I can tell I think the character marker is slightly off? you can truly see it in thin hallways like in Bleak Falls Barrow or Ustengrav, where the character marker will be completely out of the hallway on the minimap.

Looks nice but sadly the minimap is outside the screen when playing in 21:9 3440x1440p. Can only see the edge.

Just tried it and its sublime. I hope the bug that won't allow scrolling in menus can be fixed so we can zoom in and out in the minimap but scroll in MCM and inventory

Also reporting the issue with this mod causing loss of ability to scroll in MCM and inventory menus. This is a very annoying issue that needs to be fixed.

I want to report some incompatibility with this mod. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/93209 If I use it with the map, the shadows start flickering. Once I disable the shadows via menu or disable Dragon's Eye, the flickering disappears.

If anyone else is using a controller I found a mod that actually lets you zoom in and out on the minimap using the up and down on the d-pad, it also adds a lot more hotkeys. It's called Hybrid Controls

2 weeks and still can't scroll mcm menu and zooms in an out also on char?? with no way to disable or change the zoom keys?

I have similar issue to Jack. Using an Xbox controller to look around with the right stick causes the minimap to jerk around and shake. I tried zooming in the map all the way, which I had to turn controller controls off in Skyrim's options menu to do this, but that didn't fix it. It's less noticeable/jarring but it still jitters around when moving the camera. It's not that big of a deal, the map is still extremely useful. Hopefully, in a future version, this could be fixed.

Hi, just downloaded the mod, it looks great, but I have a problem. Whenever I'm using the PS4 controller to look around with the right stick, the minimap also moves and shakes. However, I am able to use my mouse to look around with the minimap shaking, is there a fix to this? Great mod. EDIT: So after playing around for a while I figure out a band-aid solution. The way the minimap interacts was strange, I am able to zoom in with my mouse wheel but it also zooms my character. If I zoom the minimap all the way to the smallest, when I'm using a controller to look, it will not shake. So I went into DS4Windows and assigned my right analog stick to my "mouse look directional" key and it's not moving anymore even when the minimap is not zoomed out.

Hi, I love what you've done already since i really missed the minimap. I did notice that when active, certain meshes at the watchtower outside of whiterun ( the one where you face your very first dragon ) are invisible. At first i thought it was a conflict but even without any mods it's still persists. Only this location as far as I can tell. Really weird since it doesn't modify the worldspace in any way. Nothing gamebreaking either, just the guard walking on an invisible wall.

Thanks! And it will be even better! I'm currently working on the MCM menu. I'm trying to generate it without Papyrus scripting. A bit of a challenge, but with the advantage of being able to install/uninstall mid playthrough without any problem!

Thanks for the inputs! The first 2 I wanted to make them, 4 I would need to find a way to cache the image... that's an optimisation I wanted since the beginning but no idea how to (for the moment), and when I asked it seems others don't know either. I love 5!

New ideas: 1) setting to decide position of window of minimap. 2) setting to decide dimension and shape of window: square or circular (so, side length or radius). 3) setting to decide color of cursor. Aactually when you are in a zone particularly clear (snow, ice) or with an active light, there is little contrast between the background (which tends to white) and the cursor, and so you could have difficult to see cursor. 4) Your minimap have animation (flowing river, flying birds, etc) and this is wonderful; but I have no idea if this increase consume of pc resources, lag, etc ... if it make, then should be nice to have a setting to decide if to have minimap with animations or no (a more more , if you can decided what animation to have active and what no). 5) For who prefer a survival mode and increased lore, minimap could request a perk, and/or read a map/book and/or active a spell with a countdown or cooltime and/or consume stamina/magicka. I suppose that for it will be need to introduce an esp, so should be better to have 2 version; one keeping the file without esp (without options/functions that need esp) and the other with esp. PS: ad example could be a link with spell foresight or dimension, consume, etc could change with character race (with more info or less info shown in minimap), as example happen with "night vision" with races that possess it by nature and others that can have it as an enchantment.

Could be interesting also to add possibility to have map that rotate to have coursor always in direction of nord and to add a setting to choose the work mode of map (as now, or new way). If MCM is more complicated, I think a simple file .ini could be also good.

I think a menu key press should work better. With The old Minimap there were 2 buttons, one for show/hide and one for resize.

Glad to hear that, still cant scroll through any menus with this mod active D: Edit: I can sometimes, but rarely. Only by deactivating this mod does my mouse scroll work as intended on any menu

Sure! that's the original idea! For now, I wanted a preview of what it will be like using the logic of the vanilla map menu. I have to understand better and work it a bit to link that to a key combo, but definitely a feature in the next update.

I see haha, hope you can make the minimap zoom in and out only when the player is outside of menus! Or maybe when the player is pressing on a specific key like shift for the scroll to work for the minimap :D

Is there a way to disable the scroll for the minimap? It stops me from being able to scroll through the settings and mcms Edit: Or atleast stop the scroll from working when in menus? Or make zoom in/out work with other hotkeys instead

There is a bug when there is animation of killmove. The minimap is wonderful
