Planes of Existence build a.17.3

Finally it's there! 

Most of the awesome things is covered in the update video already (the following post), but this is where you can get the download link to try it out yourself!

If you're lazy to read the changelist, here is a quick note for you:

We changed controls quite a bit, so please check them in the "menu->settings->controls" (they are still not rebindable, but it has all the info) 

What's new:

• Movement, character, and camera

New character movement system that replaces the old one,  it controls the temporary animation test-character for now, but later there will be actual creatures.

Things to see: 

New walking, running, jumping, sliding down slopes, climbing, swimming, combat mode movement (press "R"), top-down mode (press "Q").

• Action system, combat.

Action system allows interaction with the world and items. If it's usable - it is done thanks to this system!

Things to see: 

Usable items: Found in chests on Testmap-H. Put them into your quick access inventory (inventory is opened by "E"), press "3" to select, and press "C" to use

Weapons:  press "1" or "2" to select a weapon, then press "R" to go to the combat mode, and shoot (the second gun requires ammo though).

• Inventory

Improved inventory screen, with tooltips and separated inventory zones. Testmap-H has chests with items inside of them that do something interesting. Splitting stacks is possible with modifier keys.

• Vitals

Stamina, health, and energy has an initial implementation. Three important variables that the most of gameplay revolves around in games.

Removed:

• Old test maps

Got too outdated, and not relevant anymore... We made a couple new test maps though!

• Direenixyans

Temporarily removed dinosaurs because they are not compatible with the new movement system animations. They will definitely come back later, looking better than ever!

What's next:

• Finished combat

It's a priority for us to finis up the combat as soon as possible, add actual downed and death states for characters, and enemies to shoot at and get shot by

• Models, animations, and content

The test character may look cute, but soon he's going to be replaced with actual creatures, Hizathri and maybe even Sergals already!
