GTS Agent Ch 25: Standing Before The Overseers, The Finding Of Douglas Greene
Added 2025-01-21 16:02:35 +0000 UTCThe white glowing corridor stretched endlessly ahead, its walls softly pulsing with a faint hum of energy. Agent 100 walked in step beside Agent 10, both of them towering 50 feet tall. Their footsteps reverberated off the pristine surface beneath them, the sound melding into the quiet hum of the Confederation headquarters.
Around them, other giantesses moved with purpose, their figures equally imposing, their strides just as deliberate. Each one carried the same aura of power and authority, a testament to their shared rank as GTS Agents. This was the Confederation's heart, a sprawling high-tech kingdom carved into the gleaming white surface of the moon.
Agent 100 remained silent as she walked, her gaze drifting toward Agent 10's right hand. There, cradled in her palm, sat the diminutive king of Krythara. He was cross-legged, his head bowed, his tiny frame dwarfed by Agent 10's massive fingers. He didn't utter a word—not that Agent 100 expected him to. She couldn't blame him for his silence. They weren't saviors; they were invaders.
The corridor split into three paths ahead, each one leading to a different sector of the headquarters. Agent 100 was about to continue down the center path when a familiar voice called out.
"Agent 100!"
Her eyes widened as she turned toward the sound. A giantess with short, chestnut-brown hair was running toward her, her arms outstretched.
"Agent 101!" Agent 100 said, barely registering her surprise before Agent 101 dove into her arms.
Agent 101 buried her face into Agent 100's chest, clutching at her uniform as her shoulders trembled. "I missed you," she whispered, her voice stuttering, barely audible over her soft sobs. "I... I had to destroy a city, Agent 100. A whole city... all for the Confederation. I didn't want to, but I had to. I—"
Her words broke off, the weight of her emotions rendering her speechless.
Agent 100's heart softened as she held the trembling agent. Out of all her colleagues, Agent 101 was one of the few she genuinely liked. She was shy, unsure of herself, and completely out of place in the Confederation's ruthless hierarchy. Gently, Agent 100 patted Agent 101's short brown hair, her voice calm and reassuring.
"It's okay, Agent 101," she said softly. "I know it's hard, but you did what you had to do. You're stronger than you think."
Agent 101 pulled back slightly, tears glistening in her eyes. "I... I don't know if I can do this anymore," she murmured.
Agent 100 cupped her friend's face with one hand, tilting it upward. "You'll be fine," she said firmly. "But I need to go. The Supreme Overseer is waiting."
Agent 101 sniffled, her voice barely above a whisper. "Okay."
Agent 100 rolled her eyes playfully, trying to lighten the mood. "I'll come back. I promise."
Agent 101 smiled faintly, wiping her eyes as she stepped back. "Alright. Stay safe."
Agent 10, who had been standing off to the side with an amused smirk, chimed in. "Don't worry, I'll bring the little king with me for his grand introduction." She held up the tiny figure in her hand, her grin widening.
Agent 100 gave a curt nod. "See you around, Agent 10."
"See ya, Agent 100," Agent 10 said, her tone casual as she turned down one of the other paths.
Agent 100 walked down the center corridor, her boots echoing against the glowing surface. She passed a few agents along the way, nodding in acknowledgment but saying little. She hated being here. The headquarters always felt suffocating, a constant reminder of the Confederation's iron grip and the role she played in enforcing it.
Finally, she arrived at a massive steel door at the end of the hallway. Its surface was smooth and unblemished, save for the faint outline of a scanner embedded in the wall beside it. Agent 100 stepped forward, her towering frame blocking out the light as she bent over. The scanner activated with a soft beep, its beam sweeping across her eye.
"Identity confirmed," a cold, mechanical voice intoned.
The door groaned as it slid open, revealing a dark room beyond. Agent 100 stepped inside, her figure immediately swallowed by shadow save for a single, narrow beam of light in the center. She moved into the light, standing tall as she placed her right hand over her left chest in a salute.
"Agent 100 here as commanded," she said, her voice steady and clear.
The room remained silent for a moment before the light above her intensified, illuminating a massive figure seated on an elevated platform at the far end of the room. The Supreme Overseer, cloaked in flowing robes that shimmered like liquid silver, leaned forward, their face obscured by a hood.
"Report," the Overseer commanded, their voice low and authoritative, carrying an air of absolute control.
Agent 100 took a deep breath, standing firm as she prepared to recount the events on Krythara, every word weighed with the knowledge that her actions would be judged.
Agent 100 stood tall under the harsh white light, her shadow stretching long across the dark floor. The Supreme Overseer remained silent, waiting for her to speak. Around her, the chamber was eerily still, save for the faint hum of unseen machinery embedded in the walls. The weight of expectation pressed against her, but Agent 100's voice remained steady.
"Operation Krythara has been completed," she began. "The planet's leadership has agreed to submit to Confederation rule. The resistance was minimal, though I did encounter some opposition at the royal palace."
The Overseer tilted their head slightly, a faint gesture that signaled they were listening intently.
"They attempted to use an energy-based weapon against me," Agent 100 continued, "but it was ineffective. I neutralized the threat and extracted a formal surrender from their leader, the king. Agent 10 ensured compliance."
"Ensured compliance," the Overseer repeated, their tone neutral. "Elaborate."
Agent 100's jaw tightened, but she kept her response curt. "She leveraged fear to reinforce their submission. The king and his subjects now understand the consequences of disobedience."
The Overseer leaned back slightly, their shimmering robes shifting in the dim light. "Good. The Confederation thrives on obedience. However, this was but one task among many. We are more interested in the progress of your other mission."
Agent 100's expression didn't falter, though she felt her chest tighten. She had anticipated this question.
"Douglas Greene," the Overseer said, their voice slow and deliberate. "The subject has been elusive. What is the status of your efforts to locate his father?"
Agent 100 lowered her hand from her chest, standing at ease but keeping her tone formal. "The mission is still ongoing," she admitted. "I have yet to locate Jacob Greene, the subject's father."
