The battlefield was a wasteland of shattered earth and scorched craters. Dust hung thick in the air as Yuna charged forward, her fists and feet swinging with relentless fury. Every strike sent shockwaves rippling through the Mindscape, tearing apart the simulated environment. Trees toppled, boulders crumbled, and deep gouges formed in the ground wherever her blows landed.
Cain, meanwhile, danced around her attacks, a ghost in her storm of destruction. Every punch seemed to graze him, every kick whistled just inches past his body, but none connected. Worse still, on several occasions, her strikes passed clean through him, as if his body had turned into smoke.
"Stop running away, you coward!" Yuna growled, her voice carrying over the chaos. She planted her foot hard into the ground, launching herself forward with a devastating punch aimed squarely at his smug face.

Cain tilted his head to the side, dodging the attack with an infuriating ease. "Cowardly?" he repeated, his voice light and teasing. "You're just mad you can't land a hit."
Yuna's frustration boiled over as she unleashed a flurry of strikes, each more powerful than the last. The ground beneath her feet cracked and caved under the sheer force of her movements, sending debris flying like shrapnel.
Cain weaved through the onslaught, laughing softly. "You know, Yuna, even though you're my height in here, your strength and durability haven't changed. One wrong move, and I'll be scraping myself off the ground." He hopped back, dodging another earth-shattering punch that left a crater where he'd stood.
"Then stop dodging and fight me!" Yuna roared, throwing a spinning kick that sent a gust of wind strong enough to knock over the remaining trees nearby.
Cain landed gracefully several feet away, his smirk never fading. "And yet..." he murmured, just loud enough for her to hear, "I guess I can't keep running forever."

Yuna froze, narrowing her eyes as Cain raised his hands. "Finally going to fight me for real?"
He grinned and jumped back to gain some distance, landing in a crouch. Dust swirled around him as he stood tall again. "I'll give you one last chance, Yuna," he said, his voice calm but firm. "Walk away now. You don't want to see what's next."
Yuna laughed, the sound loud and genuine, not mocking. She brought her fists up, ready for more. "Bring it!" she yelled, her excitement palpable.
Cain's grin widened. "As you wish."
And then, to Yuna's surprise, his body began to fade. It wasn't like before when he went intangible. This was different. His edges shimmered and blurred until he seemed to melt into the air itself, vanishing completely.
"What the—" Yuna stammered, taking a step back. She rubbed her eyes, but he was gone. The empty battlefield stretched before her, eerily silent.
A strange fog crept into her mind, making her thoughts sluggish. Her fists lowered slightly as confusion clouded her focus. "W-what's... happening?" she muttered.
She tried to concentrate, but the haze thickened. She blinked hard, clutching her head. "W-who was I... fighting?" she whispered, the words leaving her lips involuntarily.
Suddenly, her instincts screamed at her, and she dove to the side. A fist whizzed past the back of her head, narrowly missing her. Yuna spun around, her heart pounding, and saw Cain standing there, his smirk as sharp as ever.
"Cain!" she yelled, snapping out of the haze.

"Miss me?" he asked, winking before vanishing again.
Yuna cursed under her breath, her frustration mounting. "What is this? What's happening to me?" she muttered, scanning her surroundings.
Before she could figure it out, Cain reappeared behind her, his hand gripping her arm. Her head whipped around, her eyes blazing with anger. "Gotcha now!" she growled, raising her other hand to flick him away like an insect.
But before she could strike, Cain disappeared again, taking her arm with him.
Yuna froze, her breath catching in her throat. She looked down at her side, and her stomach dropped. Her arm was gone.
There was no blood, no exposed bone—nothing. It was as if her arm had simply ceased to exist.
"What the hell?!" she shouted, panic creeping into her voice.
Cain reappeared a few feet in front of her, holding her missing arm in one hand like it was some kind of trophy. He twirled it lazily before tossing it over his shoulder, where it dissolved into nothingness.
"This," he said, gesturing to himself with a flourish, "is my ability. I call it 'Personal Nonexistence.' Pretty neat, huh?"
Yuna's fists clenched—well, her one remaining fist. "What does that even mean?" she snapped, trying to mask her panic with anger.
Cain's smirk widened. "It means I can erase myself—or anything I touch—from existence, even temporarily. Your arm? Not gone forever, don't worry. But it's gonna stay 'missing' until I decide to bring it back."

Yuna gritted her teeth, her eyes darting to her side again. The absence of her arm felt... wrong, like a phantom limb but worse.
Cain tilted his head, his tone almost playful. "So, care to keep going? Or do you want to call it quits while you still have the rest of your limbs?"
Yuna growled, her pride flaring. "You think I'm scared of you? I've fought worse!"
Cain chuckled, shaking his head. "Oh, I don't doubt that. But here's the thing, Yuna. You can't hit what doesn't exist."
Yuna's eyes narrowed as she prepared to charge again, her frustration and determination building. This wasn't over—not by a long shot.
