That you didn't know what a cherry bomb was kinda surprised me. But it might also be just before your time. They were on their way out when I was a kid, and I only knew what they were because of The Simpsons. The song is "Cherry Bomb" by The Runaways, btw. But I suspect one of you has since looked it up. Calling Katie Killjoy a soccer mom... To be fair, that was before she saw who Katie really was. But yeah, I see it. More like a soccer Karen. Two videos in and the Egg Bois will forever be the Spooky Dooky Eggs in my head now. π

2024-08-10 10:37:42 +0000 UTCYeah she's getting used to talking more. To be fair though it took me a long time to get where I am reaction wise. I'm just glad she's picking up on things. We've watched up to episode 5 as of tonight but I'll try to encourage her to talk more.

2024-08-10 05:57:33 +0000 UTCI would say to Mal that the biggest thing with doing reaction content is to not be afraid of saying pretty close to anything that pops into their mind. For me personally when I watch shows this way with friends I worry about not being funny or smart enough... sort of wondering why I can't be a one person Mystery Science Theater 3000. But that's totally not the point, the reaction is the content, the show is secondary. The show is important in the sense that it has to be intelligible for the people reacting, but that's all. So I hope they're not afraid to be talking over the show or pausing to go off on tangents, that's literally the point and it can be hard to learn how to ignore the urge to be polite and not interrupt or talk over something being watched. Or maybe I totally misread the situation and they just wanted to be quiet this time for one reason or another.
