If you take the tour at Universal Studios Hollywood you can see the set of the crashed airplane on the house. Pretty crazy to see in person! It's all still laid out like that. I saw it in 2009, last I heard it's still there.

the 2 old people playing the grandparents at the end were actually the main actors in the original movie, they got a cameo

Coming this weekend Home Alone 2?

Michael Hamilton

2005 was a great year for blockbusters! Star Wars Episode 3, War of the Worlds, and King Kong!

Risky Business, Born on the 4th of July, A Few Good Men, The Firm, Misson Impossible, Magnolia, Collateral are all good, if not great films. Tom Cruise can be weird at times but he has done several entertaining and impressive films.

I saw this in cinema when I was 12, was amazed by it and stunned by how a potential alien invasion could be like compared to something like in Independence Day (ID4).

Re-watching this along with the Storm team has been the most enthralled I've been with this movie. The family dynamic they play up in the first half of the movie is for me the most compelling part of the story by far. I do wish the sense of purpose hadn't petered out so much in the second half. And I wish if they were going to exactly crib the solution of the original story (complete with narrative), that they'd foreshadowed it a bit more so it didn't feel so abrupt. Still, there was a lot of good stuff here. Suggestion for a future reaction. Spielberg and Cruise collaborated for another sci-fi movie right before this one: "MINORITY REPORT" (2002). Aesthetically, it's very similar to this one (desaturated look and extreme grain), but I find the overall premise more compelling. (There's also a scene late in the film that will remind you of a scene from "The Edge of Tomorrow," another Cruise movie you watched. Of course, MINORITY REPORT came first.)

Omg, I love this movie!!! Can’t wait to watch later! I first saw this in theatres as well. I don’t even think I seen any trailers, I remember my older cousin just brought me and my brother to go see it

Daryl

Loved this movie , I watched this movie when I was 7 in theaters.

In my personal opinion, the 1953 version is far better than this. Aside from "Top Gun", "Rain Man" and "Far And Away", I've never stand Tom Cruise. He's too cocky.

David Blake

Love this movie! This was the first movie I watched in the movie theater.
