MY BRUSH SETTINGS on paint tool sai 🖌️⭐

about time i made a post with my brush settings, since i get asked about it every so often! x) i recently had to re-customize my sai interface after formatting my pc, so i figured it would be a great time to make this breakdown without missing anything.

• STABILIZER: located on the top right of the interface, you can change the amount of "help" that SAI will give you to stabilize your strokes. i set it to 15. you may want to test it and find what number works best with your tablet.
• CREATING YOUR BRUSH: i think the difference of SAI in regard to other programs is that brushes are made from manual settings, by selecting two textures (the 2 dropdowns right bellow Density) to compose it. you can right-click on a free tool slot to create a new brush, and then fully customize it. from my understanding, the name/icon chosen (Pencil/ AirBrush, etc) doesn't really matter, because you can change how they work entirely by messing with each of their settings.
• i basically use the same brush, affectionately named "BRUH", for everything haha. BRUH is created by the combination of textures that, as far as i know, are native to SAI, but i've included them in this post in case you don't have them. you can download and install more brush textures from here. here, i'm using Noise and Rock 04, but anything along the lines of Fuzystatic, Spread, or any number of Rock or Dirt should work as well. i often mess with them when i want a stronger or different texture!
• follow the settings on the second slide to create your own BRUH! the first three red arrows show settings i often adjust to my liking depending on the look i need at the moment.
