Podcasting Day: No Right Answers with Karen Chu!

In the great tradition of The Dogg Zzone 9000, we invite an esteemed guest onto the podcast to participate in one of Seanbaby's completely untested games of loose rules and looser hosts. In this episode, Good Job Brain's Karen Chu subjects herself to No Right Answers: Championship Edition, a "trivia" quiz show which is two parts Family Feud, one part Jeopardy!, and seven parts Conan the Barbarian's defense attorney.

Listen here or on your favorite podcast whatever.

It's a brutal clash of opinions and wit as Brockway bravely goes head-to-head against the cosplay marathoner who women.com called "Bay Area Quiz Queen." Does he win? Listen and find out, but no! Does he lose like a gentleman? Listen and find out, but not even close! If you've already read about their battle in Women's Podcast Quiz Games Gazette this episode has all the explosive quiz gaming they couldn't show you!

And finally, our fantastic and frankly overjoked Hot Dog Hero patrons or better can enjoy the bonus podcast where Karen and Brockway face off in a second game to determine, once and for all, our greatest American. Spoiler: It's Good Job Brain's Karen Chu! Listen on our Patreon or Discord, and don’t forget to subscribe and review!

Hulk = saddest song

AU

Mmmm...there is a lot of minor key piano tinkling going on. But do closing credits count? I have no objections to it, of course, but just want to lock down the rule here. Judges?

Dean Costello

For saddest song, I was thinking of MASH, but I was really surprised nobody mentioned the closing credits from The Incredible Hulk.

Jennifer B

It really is scary how many of these I got. I was screaming "Blade 2!!!" at my car stereo while driving home... I think some of the other drivers thought I was having a seizure or something because everyone gave me a very wide berth.

Jeff Orasky

Concur--I wouldn't mind listening to this game again. I am completely on-board with "Greatest American Hero" as the perkiest theme song. Though for the saddest, if you don't know the song title or lyrics of "MASH"'s theme song, it would probably go right by you as it is a more generic sounding song that ends with that trumpet crescendo at the end. Thus, I would throw in "Family Ties"--basically without all the other family members, each and every one will collapse in a heap of ineffectiveness and loss. Consider the line, And there ain't no nothing we can't love each other through, What would we do, baby, without us? After decoding the double negative, that's some sad-ass shit right there.

Dean Costello

Good news, everyone! After 20+ years of Seanbaby content my psychic powers are finally starting to bud! Without hesitation I immediately knew the two theme song answers Seanbaby was gonna say, but somehow I even said the word “hackysack” seconds before Brockway. That second one kinda scared me, if I’m honest. Fingers crossed for pyrokinesis next!

John Dean

This was my favorite Seanbaby game of all. Just a fantastic listen and guest for it. No notes. Please do it again sometime in the future.

I am here to tell Mr. Seanbaby that there HAS in fact been a MASH renaissance. It's on tumblr among queer teens and twenty-somethings and they are alternately horny and heartbroken over it.

Ingrid Atkinson

back in college I made extra money by doing substitute teaching on days I didn't have class. One day I had to fill in for a health teacher. He had me play some video about diet and fitness or food choices or something. I can't remember. The reason I can't remember is because Jon Hamm was the host of this thing. Not mad men Hamm. But like early 20s Hamm with that long parted in the middle Boy Meets World haircut that was popular for a long time. The tape was old. It was in this teachers collection for some time. It was about 5-6 years ago and to this day I regret not stealing that VHS, because I can't find it anywhere

DeltaFoxtrot

I actually guessed the Seanbaby answers. Although I would say that the Supernatural theme from the episode Changing Channels is pretty uplifting, but I don't think that counts as a theme since it was a one off

DeltaFoxtrot

That would have stolen for sure.

Worst ride is Schindler's List.

Jennifer B

I understand that you wouldn't know it, but the most uplifting theme song ever is the Latin American Digimon intro "If you wish it, you can fly You just have to trust Yourself a lot and go on You can count on me I give you my full support"
