Artemis DevLog - CH5

Happy Monday!

Last week I spent about a day reviewing the music from Artlist and finally getting them removed. Testing things out, I noticed there's a bug when accessing the DataLeaks from the cellphone during CH1. Basically when dismissing the phone, you lose right-click ability to access the games menu. You can still access the menu via the quick links (clicking Save or Config will bring up the menu.). The fix was easy to implement and I'll be pushing a hotfix very soon. I just wanted you guys to know this is on my radar. On top of the fix, I'll be adding the adjustment to make the font a little bigger. I still plan on creating a setting for you to adjust accordingly. But since I've got so much on my plate right now, it seems more logical increase the font size now and worry about the feature later. 

Also, I had some messages/discussions regarding the recent 4.2 patch. I just wanted to reiterate that there wasn't any new content in 4.2. The only things added that one would consider new content was the remastered dream with MC's mom back in CH1. Hardly enough to warrant a new playthrough. Additionally some tweaks to scenes at the Halloween party, specifically the interaction with June and MC and Zelda's reaction. The purpose of the patch was to implement QoL (Quality of Life) features, adjust the UI some, refresh my intro logo, apply various bug fixes. It's not something that will require to replay Artemis from the beginning. I certainly would have emphasized that as I know that's pretty common with some patches and can understandingly be frustrating to do. But I did my best to implement things without breaking saves. I hope that clears up any confusion.

Ch5 development is going real steady (knocks wood). There's been a lot of Steam talk and I don't want anyone to think that Ch5 development has been put on the sideline to get things up to speed with Steam. CH5 development is certainly the priority when it comes to managing my time during this dev cycle. There are a few environments to convert over to DAZ and optimize. A lot of them are high-poly and taking what I learned from the Halloween party, learning to better optimize these high-poly assets in scenes. This includes filling in the background to help Artemis feel more "alive". Especially now that we'll be exploring more of Central Point City's environment. I procured some assets that lets me throw people in the background. This mostly works for people in the background, but still saves me from just building random Gen3 models to sprinkle in the background. It was a lot of work to build and get it to work, but really love how I can just grab groups of people to fill in voids now.

This will help make the McCreed Expo feel "grand" as I really want to fill it with as many people as possible so it lives up to this massive event I'm shaping it out to be.

I think its fair to say now that LoF has ended.. the playing field for most anticipated VN is narrowing down.. Artemis seems to have gone from oh this looks ok as a time filler between VNs.. to being the must have VN that others are played to await the next chapter :)
