The thing that's really cool is that I never thought the necklace would be so important and the number of times they do bring it back to her was taken lightly on my side, I never thought like oh why do we keep seeing this necklace you know, it was more like I thought it was only because of the sentimental value linked to it but it's amazing that all along it was this magical thing which I don't even know what it does yet but I'm sure it'll be guuuuuud ahahah

I laughed during Episode 2x09 and here is why, Stefan says the following: Stefan: Look, I've never even met anyone who's laid eyes on him. I mean, we're talking centuries of truth mixed with fiction. We don't know if he's real. For all we know he could just be some sort of stupid bed time story. The way they inserted this is brilliant and clever as well. Now, one of the things the show also does is a certain theme or even using episode numbers in a certain way. This is the 3x03 and this is the actual third road trip we have with Damon and Elena , the last one was 2x03 and that was the one to Duke, remember that Elena was really angry with Damon due to the Jeremy situation. I will bring up the road trip aspect more in the next episode though. Your reaction to learning that Rebekah was Klaus sister was priceless especially with a mouthful of water lol. Overall another great reaction and yeah Caroline goes through a lot of torture unfortunately.

2021-07-08 00:02:14 +0000 UTC@Libby always on point in making things very clear. Elena is in denial, she doesn't want to admit she is clulees about who Stefan really is. Making a list on the wall of names of the poeple you kill, imply premeditation, he asked them the name because he knew, he was going to kill them and add them to the list, and the list is made not to forget the killing to re-live it, the pain/pleasure of it. That is serial killer behaviour. I agree, the first few episodes in season one where Elena and Stefan were together, they were cute but then when Stefan manipulation stated to be apparent I didn't see Elena and Stefan as a great match. Their relationship is based on manipulation of the truth, of Elena and on lies. Stefan never voluntiers the truth that doesn't make him look good. Surely he is not anymore the person he was in the 20s and he is trying to protect Elena, but also I feel that being the truth out, it is easier for him to burn bridges and let her go, since he never wanted her to find out his past story, because it tarnish his reputation, his good brother persona he hides behind. Stefan's personality got just upgraded to interesting.

2021-07-07 19:08:36 +0000 UTCI think this is a good episode to bring up the whole Stefan and Elena relationship and why I could never completely get on board with it. (other than the fact that I completely ship Stefan with someone else) It is made glaringly obvious that Elena has NO idea who Stefan really is. None. Stefan has repeatedly held things back from her until it's pried out of him or other people fill her in. Not having all the information in 1x17. is the reason she fed Stefan her blood. If she had known, she wouldn't have done it. The bloodlust, in 1x19 Damon had to tell her. Not only that but Stefan told the girl he was going to eat in the parking lot that he planned on never telling Elena. He says "she wasn't supposed to find out now everything is ruined" In 1x20 again Damon has to tell her that Stefan forced him to turn. In 2x15 Elena has to read about how bad Stefan was right after he turned. Stefan says he was going to tell her... um when? Here we are in 3x3 and Damon has to show her Stefan's names on a wall. How can you be in a relationship with someone you don't actually know? Although I do feel bad for Elena when Stefan breaks up with her. Damon as opposed to Stefan, tells Elena the good the bad and the ugly and lets the chips fall where they may. He is who he is and you can take him or leave him.

2021-07-07 17:05:11 +0000 UTCI would like to take a moment to acknowledge the brilliance of the writing and set up that led to this episode. It could have been so stupid but they clearly had this all planned out. Klaus never saw the necklace on Elena or Katherine. Katherine stole it in 2x17 so it was never on Elena when Klaus got there. Damon gave it back to her in 3x1 cause he found it in Alaric's loft. (assuming Katherine took it off and tossed it before Klaus made his entrance) Either way, really good planning. This episode also explains what seemed to many first time viewers a contrivance that happened in 2x21. Klaus wouldn't take Stefan to kill, this is why. They were friends. Katherine in this episode sees Stefan pick up the necklace in the 20s but didn't know whose it was. She only took it from Elena in 2x17 to fool Stefan, not cause she knew it had any value. I love details like that.

2021-07-07 14:48:50 +0000 UTCI love this episode it’s so good. We get to learn a lot about Stefan’s past. I love the flashbacks in TVD they are so good and this one was even better. Stefan was ruthless and used to kill without remorse he seems like a total different person from who we know currently. And yes Stefan’s hair looks great here. This is my fav look of him in the entire show. We meet Rebekah another original I love her 🥰We also get to know Stefan’s way of writing his victims names on a wall and boy was that a long list 😅 What Stefan told Elena was Harsh but your correct he is doing this to keep her safe from Klaus and now since they are looking for the necklace she is more in danger to be found. I love Liz she’s grown so much as a character from S1 and I absolutely love her relationship with Caroline their adorable my favourite mother- daughter duo in this show.
