The wounded Delta Red agent tried to lift herself off the concrete, but at this point her entire body felt like lead. Even if she could summon the strength to stand, her mental capacity for suffering had been greatly exceeded. Even the thought of rising to endure any more of this painful beating made her heart sink in her chest.
Was this what the government had chosen her for? Going out in public in a skimpy outfit just to suffer the most humiliating defeats imaginable? Is this what her life was going to be? Cammy didn't have the strength left to even worry about this any longer. Her arms gave out and her body went limp, completely unconscious.
