The video flips expectations: she’s singing about being horny and free, yet it’s raw, sweaty, unglamorous. That’s real sex sometimes. It’s not always pretty, but still beautiful. That’s just my interpretation though haha. ❤️ Lorde is always ahead of her time. She never compromises her art for making people comfortable or having hits—and she’s one of the best lyricists of our generation. A poet, truly. I think “Melodrama” is a fine place to start. It’s executive produced by Jack Antonoff. 😉
