I have to say this is still one of my favorite Sherlock Holmes stories. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle didn't usually write Sherlock Holmes stories of this length, and seeing him create a narrative such as this one is amazing. The part on the moor where it turns out to be Holmes instead of another benevolent force brings me fond memories of reading the book for the first time and being completely surprised by that twist, something that is, to this day, hard for a book to accomplish for me lol.
