Wow I haven't voiced Thor in a while, I was almost afraid I couldn't do it anymore lol. Regardless, I had fun writing this audio, just because I wanted it to be comforting, but also a little bit of a reality check, while still being in the MCU lol. Also, yes, this is set after Endgame, but Tony lived somehow, don't ask me, I don't make the rules other than Tony lives lol. Hope you all enjoy!'

Thor: Alright….here we are…..

*pause*

Well….to be honest…...there is no danger…..

*pause*

There’s nothing and no one that needs saving……

well except for maybe you…..

I lied.

*pause*

Because you need a break, and as far as I’m concerned, this was the only probable way to accomplish that.

*pause*

Nothing.

That’s right. I dragged you out to the middle of nowhere, to do nothing. Well, not literally nothing, but ‘nothing’ as in-- ‘not your job’, and also as in, ‘nothing that requires you to be ‘productive’. Because Odin knows that you’d find a way to turn time off into a productive activity.

*pause*

I personally, am going to lay down in the grass here, and listen to nature. Perhaps I’ll watch the clouds, see if I can discern any particular shapes while I do.

*pause*

Yes, as a matter of fact, this was my entire plan. To get you to relax for what I can honestly assume might be the first time in your adult life.

Come now, there’s no use for being angry, and there’s no way you’ll be able to get back home without my help, so you might as well come and lay in the grass with me.

*pause*

Perfect. Now if you’re still inclined to listen to me, which since I tricked you I wouldn’t necessarily blame, but I beg your indulgence for a few minutes, uncross your arms, close your eyes, and just…...listen, and breathe.

*long pause*

Now….you see….you’re not listening…...Close your eyes…...settle down, relax as much as you can…….and listen

What do you hear?

See? Would you have even known if I had told you?

And look, these are the best kinds of clouds, they make the best shapes…...go on…..watch them for a moment……

*pause*

Some of them move a lot faster than you’d think, don’t they?

*long pause*

…..Just because you’re a hero, like me, like Stark, like, Hels anyone who uses their powers and their knowledge for good, doesn’t mean that you need to sacrifice everything.

I know some people may say that doing literally everything that you can is your responsibility, and that if you don’t drop everything to do as much as you physically, emotionally, spiritually can, that you’re worthless to them. They say, “Otherwise what’s the point? You’d be a selfish and greedy and potentially evil person if you didn’t.”

But the thing is….is that besides a hero, you are also a person. You have needs beyond the need to do good, to use your powers for good. 

Think of it this way. If you spend all of your time focusing on being a hero, and only allow yourself the bare minimum, you’re going to break down, something is going to give eventually. I don’t need to tell you this…..I know you can already feel it simmering under the surface of yourself. When that something breaks, then, you won’t be at your best and healthiest, mentally, physically, whatever. And because of that, you won’t be able to do your job to the best of your abilities. Being a hero is about balancing life in and outside of being a hero. It’s difficult, I’m not claiming that it isn’t, but if you don’t give yourself the grace to be anything other than a hero, then you’re going to burn out. 

….simply because I am a god doesn’t mean that I don’t require a break every now and again as well, doesn’t mean I’m not allowed to enjoy things that don’t involve being a god or being an Avenger.

Think for a moment, of any hero who has had any longevity in this or any other world. They have lives and loves and hobbies and times outside of being a hero that keep them sane, that they look forward to, that they love and cherish and keep them sane when times get incredibly difficult. Those things keep them strong, help keep themselves in top condition, so that they have the ability to continue being a hero.

I don’t want to see you fall apart.

*pause* 

Well when you’re a god you need to know these sort of things….

*chuckles* I’m kidding…..To tell you the truth, I haven’t always been great at the separation from hero to godhood to myself. I worked myself to the bone, blamed myself for a lot of things, fell apart, and then went into hiding because I didn’t want to have to deal with anything anymore.

I don’t want to frighten you, but I can see something brimming under the surface in you, and I don’t want it to explode. If not for me, and for your friends and teammates, and for all the worlds out there, for yourself. I know how it feels to be there, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone else.

I’m not infallible, which is something I believe heroes have a hard time comprehending…..myself included….

So you are allowed moments of peace…..moments of pleasure…..moments of laziness…..

Nothing productive, nothing ‘urgent’. Just…...laying in the grass…staring up at the clouds…..and just……being.

So how about it? Shall we just…..be?
