Jack

Portia’s dad liked Edwin from the day he met him, and was really one of the few people who could really see him. Portia’s dad is a very sweet soul, who sees the best in everyone, even when people really mess up… so he’s always been the one that’s like ‘ok Jack (Edwin), you messed up, how will you fix this?’ And keeps moving forward. He obviously isn’t the perfect dad, his kindness gets taken advantage of and he can be a bit oblivious to his daughter’s life, his own life, but he truly tries his best.

I do think it’d be funny if Portia’s dad was like ‘why don’t u get a good boy like Edwin?’ Meanwhile Edwin used to be driven home by the cops all the time in highschool cause he was up to no good. But Portia’s dad continuously stands by the fact that he’s a good boy, and does what’s right. I definitely think it’d be the fact that obvi Edwin and Portia bicker etc, but he always tries to do right by her, including the bickering cause Portia likes to WIN. Charlie would prob pick up pretty quickly that Edwin takes very special care with Portia, is always there for her, sits while she talks at him, takes her out to dinner, listens and actually interacts with her. I think of lot of her bfs were kinda either mean mean or just suck up-y, and Edwin has a back bone but will do what Portia wants if it makes her happy. Respects her and talks to her like a person, including calling her out. I think Edwin’s also the first person Portia ever was actually friends with. Charlie can see they’re besties and is very happy to know that his princess is being v well taken care of by her bf. I do think Edwin is still afraid of Charlie, but I also think he’s insane and would try to big dog him (as a joke), like ‘she’s mine now, bro- sit down old man’ or just something silly and then Edwin’s runs away afraid because Charlie glared at him. They’re also p frank and honest with each other cause they’d work together etc, so I think it’s funny and maybe a lil weird
