News and Work Plans (November 2020)

Hi everyone! Hope you are well and safe!

As you know, I like to share with you the news and what is going on with my work and plans for future content.

All world is passing through hard times with this pandemic. My plans in August were to make Patreon a full-time job, but, after a long time of thinking and intense talks with my girlfriend, we have decided to play safe, and take a remote full-time job in a studio as a Motion Designer. I will keep making tutorials as usual. It was a hard choice, but I felt now it is not the time to make this change, it is one of my dreams, be able to dedicate 100% of my time to personal projects, tutorials, and work with the community. I know that time will come, and I am very thankful for all your support!

But now let's jump to the good news!!! Even with a full-time job I am increasing/improving the content!

This month and the next one will be very full and a little bit stressful!

I'm taking Rebelway's course on Realtime VFX to learn new skills and combine Houdini with Unreal. So be prepared for new tutorials in Unreal!

As I have said in the past, I am preparing a cool complex project to make with you (Patrons) and the community :D! It will be an "interactive" short CGI series. The concept is to have small episodes, full CGI with real-time render, and the viewers can vote on what happens next at the end of each episode. In other words, it will be the viewers who decide the story's course. In terms of skills and technical content for our Patreon, this project will be done mainly with Unreal and Houdini. My idea is to record devlogs and live streams while doing the work to share with you all the process. Hope you enjoy this project as much as I do!

Another thing that I am aiming for is the MDC's contest with Razer. Until the 30th of November, we need to create a nice video with the theme: "Strange Universe". Luckily for me, I can adapt the first episode of our story project into this contest.

To finish this work plan, I want to start Doxia's Weekly live stream, maybe on Twitch and Youtube. It will be nice to force myself to work on the project every week, work on tutorials, and let people know more about Doxia and grow our community.

As you can imagine, my life is really busy at the moment and it has been hard to balance family, real-life and all this work. I will do my best to do what I promise and make you happy, enjoy the content, and learn with it!

TLDR:

Thank you all for your amazing and awesome support! Love you all! Please stay safe and "everything will be alright"!

PS: Tomorrow, the 2nd of November, is my birthday :D! 30 years old! If you want to give me a small birthday present, besides your amazing support, you can share our channel with your friends and your community :) Thank you so much <3

With love,

Luís - Doxia
