It's either their company or the show producers that pick their song and who they audition with. Or at least that is the case with I-land, the Produce series, and Girls Planet 999.

I don't the camerawork helped the performance, they just choose the right song. the song was able to show off their vocal, dancing, and performance skills. Their performance was the most noticeable compared to most of the units.

2021-07-18 16:28:11 +0000 UTCalso im really surprised that u didnt recognized jungwon immediately cuz in enhypen jungwon is kind of center and leader :) for editing that u mentioned, i guarantee it'll get better after first ep and in case u want to see particular person's full performance, there's personal fancam version (which focuses on that person the whole performance without any editing) that mnet posted on youtube.

2021-07-17 02:35:58 +0000 UTCtrainees are usually split up from what I've seen to answer you're question of why some of them look like they know each other and others don't. Also I believe this was a joint company thing so I don't know that they all train in the same facility prior to this show. the only show I can think of where this is clearly explained is the YG Treasure Box survival show where YG shows the different trainee groups within his company and I've seen it briefly in the first episode of Stray Kids survival show where different trainee groups performed at a showcase in the beginning. Some trainees seem to train together for a while before they are split up into different groups and then it seems that each group of trainees is trained separate from each other, but I guess it depends on the company.

2021-07-17 01:30:40 +0000 UTCthe thing about heeseung is not that he was supposed to debut in txt, it's just when he entered bighit the txt members had been already confirmed to debut so that probably was the reason why he was able to train with them until txt debuted in 2019.

2021-07-15 00:51:38 +0000 UTCRegarding the entrance test, I feel that thinking about voting for non- threatening contestants is a very western idea, I mean, I've never seen Koreans or Asians (because I have seen survival shows from other Asian countries) do that. they always vote for who they think has a really good level, it's incredible, it's really fair in that sense, not like some things I've seen in this part of the world 🤔

2021-07-14 20:16:51 +0000 UTCI think with the appealing thing, more contestants did get to do it but it was just edited out, because later on in the show they do reference the appeal performance of a different trainee that wasn't shown in this episode. The editing in this show is definitely a bit dodgy, but the performance shots at least get better as it goes on. Also, some of the other contestants who didn't debut in Enhypen are now in other groups, for example EJ, K, Taki & Nicholas are set to debut in the upcoming Bighit Japan group, and Geonu & Jimin are in the group JustB which just recently debuted! (Kyungmin was also supposed to be in Bighit Japan but later decided to leave </3). I hope you will check out JustB as well, their debut song 'Damage' is really good!

2021-07-14 17:40:58 +0000 UTCWith this I'm on my third watch of I-Land. It helps me to get to know the members that I didn't concentrate on quite as much during my first watch. About those who didn't debut with Enhypen: Jimin and Geonu just debuted at the end of June in the Group JustB with "Damage" if you didn't know already. K, EJ and Taki will be part of a J unit (under Big Hit Japan). Some other contestants are training or preparing for debut, I think one left the industry.

2021-07-14 15:27:01 +0000 UTCOnly a select few trainees came from Bighit, the others came from BELIFT, and Enhypen told us on vlive that in BELIFT the trainees are not allowed to speak to one another and especially not be seen out in public together due to group rumors and paparazzi stalking the company buildings, so on I-LAND was the first time most of them ever had a proper conversation lmao
