Didn't know "Devils" was the first theme! I had a lot of laugh in this episode, too! Quite torn about one of the rankings. Let me know your thoughts!
Note: My mic didn't record properly (I hate technical difficulties with PASSION). You can still hear me, just a little faint when I talk a bit over the footage. But of course I pause for the big commentaries so you can definitely hear me there. Just not that full sound quality I usually have.

Honey J when join this show is so cool, it shocked me how much she has adapted to the mainstream entertainment and show her personality more in SWF, thought she was a quiet, cold person but she just all really girly and cute too

2022-03-13 02:28:47 +0000 UTCI agree with your thoughts at the end of the episode about Ten vs U-Kwon. However, I thought it was interesting that Ten actually received more judges' votes than U-Kwon. I believe Ten got 6/8 where U-Kwon got 5/8. Right? haha I hope I caught that correctly.

2020-11-30 01:52:59 +0000 UTCI feel like in hts people prefer being entertained more than the actual dance aspect which is also why I feel like ten won with his other performance (the musical one i can't remember the name) because it was more entertaining for the crowd :/ but yeah it sucks devils was amazing

2020-10-31 20:13:22 +0000 UTCthat was a HUGE debate between ten & u-kwon back then, and honestly I still feel like ten should have kept first place and u-kwon should have taken second. It's a dance competition, so it should have went off of the dancing.

2020-09-09 09:29:45 +0000 UTCI felt that the audience might be bias towards ukwon because they have seen him in shows before and i think it was the dramatic theatrical that caught the audience attention. I was ukwon bias too because I didn’t know ten then, but i felt that ten did better altogether. The performances speaks for themselves.

2020-08-02 17:34:25 +0000 UTCyes, i feel the same way towards u-kwon's stage!! he's an amazing dancer and actor and his stage presence is great, I love his joker performance BUT I also think that there wasn't much dancing for a dance competition and that is something that still bothers me since 2016 hahaha but yeah, ten still 1st in my heart

2020-06-30 07:51:36 +0000 UTCI ult ten but i stan almost everyone else too so idk if I'm being biased too lol. the stage was great and it seems like everyone enjoyed it but still there was no enough "dance" so it's not very fair since it's a dance competition. it's been 3 years and I'm still mad ten was I'm robbed hehe and I'm sure the audience voted off of the enjoyment they felt and maybe didn't think this through very well?? eh idk..

2020-06-30 02:17:13 +0000 UTCYou were talking and not paying attention in the beginning, the hosts stated that Jay Black was doing stage to introduce the theme of the episode xD I will say that the editing is a bit choppy and all over the place though, I can't remember if it gets better as the show goes on :l Overall performance wise, I agree with your opinions, I like U-Kwon and his stage was good performance wise but as a DANCE piece it definitely lacked compared to Ten's and everyone else, as another comment states, I do think since the theme was so strong theatrics played a big part in this. The stages only get better after this episode I believe~

With Momo I also noticed how she could not execute foot movements perfectly and with UKwon I think his dance was not showcased enough with focus on the production probably because they want it to be noticeable more than Hoya's version.

2020-06-28 13:04:50 +0000 UTCI watched this show when this first aired mainly for Taemin, Hyo, and Hoya because it seems interesting and I've always known them as great dancers but here comes Ten who stole the show from episode 1. Although Ten obviously didn't win the Devils Challenge, I believe his performance is still the most memorable from the first 2 episodes.

2020-06-28 04:31:26 +0000 UTCI think they devil theme just gave too much power to special effect and props (as well as shock factor because it's a scary concept) . I think later episodes have more focus on dance and expression with theatrics as an accessory.

2020-06-28 01:29:14 +0000 UTCRewatching this with u just reminded me y I never made it passed ep 3😂 it was just so over the place (to me) Ten was awsome👏🏾 I did loose a tiny bit interest once it got to the chair section of boras dance as well. I would say my rank for all performances but I’ll just focus on the performance we had this episode. Mine was Ten, Momo, Bora then U-kwon (character wise he fit it perfectly just didn’t connect with the choreography I feel like he relied a little to much on playing joker rather than dancing) I’ll give my full rank next ep

I've danced for most of my life but have never been properly trained so I don't consider myself some kinda expert but I feel so accomplished when we have the same comments because I'm like maybe I do know something lol. Also I know youtube can be burdensome because anyone can see your videos and take your comments out of context so a lot of times you have to clarify what you say but I think since this is Patreon and most likely people here know where you're coming from, you can be more relaxed with what you say. I do hope you can be "unfiltered" in these reactions because it is fun to hear different thoughts even if they are different from mine.

2020-06-27 21:22:01 +0000 UTCBack when the show aired I watched it for Taemin as SHINee is my favorite group, Hoya because Infinite is my second favorite group and I was really into Block B with U-Kwon as bias and also liked Big Star a lot although Feeldog, who will join later, wasn't my bias. Fell for Ten and Rocky because of the show. My first time seeing Ten was with Devil, and his performance was my favorite from ep 1. It was so uniq. I LOVE U-Kwon's performance for the role portrail and musical aspects, but always thought Ten's was the best in dance and overall. I'm really looking forward to your reaction to the next ep, and the rest!

2020-06-27 21:18:05 +0000 UTCit was actually a big debate on whether ukwon shouldve beat ten when this first aired LMAO so you're not alone! i def agree though, ten was easily my favorite performance on this round even though i initially watched this show for hyoyeon + taemin, and ten on this show was what got nct a lot of their korean recognition so he was easily the show's fan favorite in general. tbh it gets me kinda salty sometimes that ten was so popular for his dance skills only for sm to lock him up for a couple of years until wayv (who barely get any promotions anyway) but regardless, its nice to revisit this and see how much he's improved despite having had a strong start already.

2020-06-27 20:27:27 +0000 UTCAlthough I did not follow the show as a whole but rather just the stages the premise at the beginning around 12:40 in your reaction is that J Black n Pink (black for his more masculine side of dance and pink for his more feminite style) starts off the show as an "ice breaker" for the contestants. J Black will also come back later in the show as a judge as well as to do more "ice breaker" performances. J Black is a very well known performer in Korea one of the best, if not the best in my opinion. He has his own crew (studio as well I believe but not 100% on that) he's also known to have started Korea's first gender-fluid dance crew Pinky Cheeks. He has done a couple of performances with idol groups as well as judged in quite a few dance competitions such as Dancing 9 (Mnet dancing survival show that ended in 2014) and Dancing High ( a survival show for up and coming teenagers in Korea, NCT Jisung was on the show as a contestant and coaches on the show were Kikwang of Highlight, Hoya of Infinite, Seunghoon of Winner, Choreographers Young-J and Jho of Just Jerk, and Choreographer Lia Kim ( I highly recommend this show it is eng subbed on kshowonline or kshow123)

Like I even was so shocked some of those moves made it to air haha. I’m used to those in the west but did not expect it from a korean show haha!

2020-06-27 14:42:43 +0000 UTCSo, I thought I would give you a little info on the Participants Momo is from Twice and amazing but you are right, she is pretty shy and introverted U-Kwon is a Member of Block B and they tend to have extremely fun performances but they usually aren't focused on Dance but more on Energy if you know what I mean You obviously already know Ten, this is actually the Show where he became closer with Taemin, great Foundation for SuperM Bora is from Sistar and they tend to have a lot of sexy Concepts, they are good Dancers but I think she mostly did something she is familiar with and that's maybe why she didn't include a WOW Factor in the second half? Hyoyeon is the Main Dancer of SNSD/Girls Generation. She is the biggest Senior on the Show. Girls Generation has some fun Choreo but Hyo shines the most in Solo Stages in my Opinion Hoya is from Infinite, which you heard about. They are mostly known for amazing Live Vocals and Synchronisation. Hoya is actually one of my favorite Dancers in all of Kpop, you should check out his Dance Practice for his Solo Song Angel. I don't need to say much about Taemin 😉 Shownu is from Monsta X. You checked them out so you know they do a lot of powerful Choreo.

Both the girl dances where mainly focussed on "sex appeal" so I didn't really enjoy them that much. I know it's still a style of dance and also has it's technical elements. It just wasn't for me. I enjoyed Momo's other hit the stage performance a lot more (contemporary emotional style stage). U-kwons stage was based a lot around acting and less around dancing in my opinion do I definitely agree with you on that part. He did well but since this is a dance competition, I would have liked to see Ten's stage get a little more recognition. I can understand why his stage got a higher voting than Ten's though because it is one that would have left a very strong impression on the audience (his representation of his character was no joke) and that could have definitely gotten him more votes. Can't wait for next week by the way. Taemin's performance is amazing. He later went on to perform the choreography for that song at MAMA. So I highly recommend checking that out too. ;)
