Final Call for OC Submissions

If you didn’t know, we have a Patreon tier that lets you submit your own original characters (OCs) to appear in URAGONER as non-playable characters—things like shopkeepers, quest givers, smugglers, and more.

Kuso, our lead artist, is down to the final 10 OC commissions. Once those are done, we’re planning to close this tier as we shift into the final phase of beta/demo development. At this point, about 90% of the core content is complete—we’re essentially gluing the pieces together, refining flow, and knocking out remaining polish tasks like UI cleanup, card art, and final integration. If you’ve been thinking about grabbing a slot, this is probably your last real chance.

What’s Next

We’ve shown off a good amount of gameplay lately, and we’re getting close to lifting the curtain on some actual story content. This is a huge milestone for us, and we’re excited to let you in soon.

Behind the scenes, we’re wrapping up the backstories and arcs for every major and supporting character—from origin details and faction ties to personality quirks and endgame outcomes. Believe it or not, the story’s ending is already locked—we’re just stitching the middle into place to make sure it all clicks. It’s a massive effort, especially for a two-person team juggling writing, programming, art, and implementation. But it’s coming together.

We also wanted to share a quick look at the rewards screen you’ll encounter after battles or at treasure nodes. Here’s what you can expect:

• Upgrades attach to individual characters and grant powerful permanent effects.

• Weapons change a character’s gameplay style—some include unusual mechanics that can completely shift how you use them.

• Modifiers affect your entire team, often tilting a run in your favor when chosen well.

• Papers are the in-game currency, used to purchase items during a run.

• Skills are offered to each character after a battle; choosing wisely lets you build custom decks and unlock powerful synergies both for the character and across the team.

After each battle, you’ll receive a mix of these rewards depending on the difficulty of the encounter. Thoughtful deckbuilding and reward selection are key to long-term survival.
