It's obvious going in that Winkie is an oatmeal brain w/ terrible taste b/c he works for Slate, a platform I've boycotted for years exactly b/c they can be relied upon to publish terrible takes on whatever the topic is. 2. That said, if I *were* to read this, my assumption would've been that his editors got a dictate from on-high to publish something supportive of Netflix's terrible business model (b/c, again, that's what Slate does -- actually, come to think of it his editors probably didn't need a dictate b/c they were hired b/c they've already internalized that kind of soulless opinion-making) and Winkie got tapped for the job. Or maybe he volunteered, b/c, again, oatmeal brain w/ terrible taste.
