NOVEMBER UPDATES
Added 2022-11-01 12:57:08 +0000 UTCHello everyone! If you are reading this that means you are a patron for the month of November, so thank you very much! Here is what we have planned this month…
In October we spent a good chunk of time on Halloween related projects which we had a lot of fun with, but this month we will be mostly focusing on Star Trek & Firefly.
Currently our goal is to finish Firefly and season 2 of Star Trek by the end of the year. We would then follow those up with watching Serenity and doing a Star Trek season 2 recap episode of Whatever This Is in January.
Due to our plans, there will be less “extra” content this month, but the Firefly reactions will be more frequent. They should be weekly like Star Trek usually is. We should also be able to react to the next episode of Battlestar Galactica, and look out later this month for a poll regarding our next movie reaction!
Please leave any thoughts, questions, or recommendations in the comments below and thank you for being a Patron!

The 1966 Batman is one of my favorites!

2022-11-01 23:49:45 +0000 UTCI racked my brain for a Christmas suggestion - and all I could think of was Santa Claus vs. The Martians! Don't bother with that one - even little kids think its bad. It did occur to me you should check out what Star Trek was competing against on TV in the 60s and I immediately thought of Batman. Since you can't watch the entire series(you wouldn't want too either - gets old quick). You could watch the 1966 movie based on the series. There is nothing like it - it is pure camp. You can only take so much campiness but they do it in such a serious way that it made it entertaining to adults. It had some of the highest ratings of its time. I am sure all of us who watch Star Trek in day also have fond memories of this show. I think it would be interesting to see what you thought of it. It isn't just for kids - there are some very adult themes just under the surface.

As I mentioned after watching the original Day the Earth Stood Still about vintage sci-fi religion specifically Christianity is heavily featured at one point but doesn't detract from nor is it the at the forefront of the movie. Plus it is a true sci-fi/horror movie with much more action oriented shots than and not quite as dialog ridden or focused as Stood Still was.
