I can’t make bricks without clay. Data, data, data. Nyeh nyeh nyeh — or something more clever 😄 The Sherlock-Watson combo also worked for me, surprisingly enough. The second movie is just as good.

2025-01-02 07:06:49 +0000 UTCThe Sherlock show is pretty good, but takes poetic license to some of the characters, just like every rendition of Sherlock Holmes, no exception to this RDJ version, who is more of a fighter Sherlock..And they definitely didn't shy away from his drug abuse.. I got some friends to watch this movie (once it came to DVD\Bluray) but I had to convince them that there was no real black magic going on, because they were a bit off-put by that whole aspect of the plot and were about to turn it off..But they ended up still enjoying it overall.. It's interesting that you're watching the version with the old Moriarty voice.. Since they did an actual casting of an actor for Moriarty for the sequel, they did a redubbing of this film with that new actor, for I guess the case of consistency..The dubbing quality of the voice isn't great though, IMO..

2025-01-02 05:50:16 +0000 UTCI just didn’t find him convincing in the role. I kept seeing RDJ not Sherlock. I think it’s the only thing I’ve seen him in that I didn’t enjoy. I think he’s a brilliant actor, and I’m a longtime fan of Sherlock in both the books and different film and tv adaptations. I just didn’t think he was a good fit for the role. Sorry I can’t be more specific than that. Jude Law is great, and the film has excellent production values, so I can see why people like it.

And those slo-mo fight scenes had already been done to death when this came out. But I’m interested to hear Rob and Trin’s thoughts on it, so I’m curious enough to watch it again.

2025-01-02 03:21:55 +0000 UTCI know you guys enjoyed watching the show Sherlock which is another reason I’m going to nudge watching Doctor Who one the writers and later showrunner of the Show is Steven Moffat who was the writer/ showrunner for Sherlock. Plus every British actor ever lol jk but not really. I think it’s worth the try .
