I belong to the people that actually did like the movie despite dislinking the first Captain Marvel. I have only two major points of critique: 1st: the Bollywood Planet was a stupid idea 2nd: If they had to use a song from cats, they should have selected another spng than most anoying song in the whole musical!

2024-08-13 10:07:35 +0000 UTCI don't join the hate crowd for Secret Invasion, the writing was good with some tremendous character scenes from the people involved. But the plot was bad, I think the series was pretty much out of Feige's control at the time. After all once Iger came back to Disney & gave Feige full control again we've seen a slowing of release, a retooling of those projects that could be changed (Daredevil Born Again almost getting a full reshoot & a lot of work on Captain America New World Order) Agatha All Along is looking fun and from what we've seen of New World Order it looks like a return to Winter Soldier political style story telling. And Thunderbolts looks like a fun team movie.

2024-08-12 21:51:59 +0000 UTCThis film deserved a lot more at the Box Office, but with no promotion because of the strikes and a lot of hate on-line from the sad anti-woke clickbait crowd it suffered a lot. It is by no means top-tier MCU but is a hell of a lot of fun. It was good to see reports that once it hit streaming it got a lot of positive reaction.

2024-08-12 14:05:11 +0000 UTCThis movie suffers somewhat from obvious rewrites and reshoots (anybody wanna check up on Aladna?) but it's still a lot of fun. And more Kamala Khan (and her parents) is definitely a good thing. It does manage to begin to bring together some disparate MCU storylines - Ms. Marvel, Kree/Skrulls, Monica Rambeau, even Kate Bishop - which is one of the biggest complaints about the Multiverse saga. Clearly someone in the writers/producers room has a love for musicals - between the theatrics of Aladna and the "cat-wrangling" scene being underscored by Memory from Cats (I see what they did there!).
