Upcoming Reaction Plans

Short Summary (read below for the full waffle!)
Sadly, Angel is wrapping up soon and The Good Place won’t be far behind, so it's time for some new shows! Severance has been recommended a lot and it's likely to replace Angel. I’m thinking Man on the Inside (short, one season) could be my Ted Danson fix once The Good Place is done. I’m also considering diving into something longer like Battlestar Galactica, Farscape, or Veronica Mars. Doctor Who will get its own post later so we can chat properly about it.

We are coming to the end (sort of, but this gal likes to be prepared!) of a few shows. Angel is almost finished and The Good Place is only 4 seasons long so I suppose that will creep up on us soon as well.
I'm going to need a couple of shows to replace them!
Last time when I asked for shorter shows to react to, you all DELIVERED. If it wasn't for that post, I wouldn't have watched The Good Place and I'm sure you all know how much I love it. I will go back and check that post again and see what other hidden gems are there.
So, one show I am ready to commit to and say will be an upcoming reaction is Severance. This has been recommended many times to me and I'm really excited to see what it's all about! Severance will most likely replace Angel.
I still don't have a show to replace The Good Place BUT I've had my eye on Man on the Inside. I think I'll need another Ted Danson fix once Good Place is done! It's a short show, just one season so far and the episodes are 30 minutes long and just checking that info I saw there's a second season coming in November 😅 So I guess that might be a sign to go for it!
Other shows I am considering are Battlestar Gallactica, Farscape and Veronica Mars. Any thoughts on those? I know they aren't short shows, but I think I'm also ready for a longer commitment as well.
I think I want to make a separate post about Doctor Who when we get further along in the series as I want to talk about that in its own post so all the comments are easy to find.
I honestly have tried movies... I just don't know if they are for me. Scream 3 is finally edited (after sitting there unedited for a few months) so keep an eye out for that one. I recently reacted to the original Karate Kid movie as I wanted to maybe react to Cobra Kai but it takes me so long to get movies edited that they end up just sitting there. A possibility is for me to pull back on one or two of the shows per week and have 1 x movie and 1 x show per week and I'd be more likely to be able to manage. So yeah, lots to think of!
Thank you for making it through this post! I hope you have a wonderful day/evening ahead (it's 6:30am here right now) 💜🤗

I'll once again propose "Chuck". Not as well known (There were one or two others recommending last time), and it is somewhat long (5 seasons, but season 1 and 5 were half seasons, so it is really 4 seasons long). Wikipedia calls it an Action Comedy Spy Drama, and that is a pretty good description. Zachary Levi is "Chuck", and two other main actors are Yvonne Strahovski, who is an Australian actress (perhaps you know of her), and Adam Baldwin, who played Jayne in Firefly. I will also note that when a third season was possibly not going to happen, the fans of the show instead of just protesting, figured out that it might be best to appeal to sponsors, and were able to get Subway Restaurants to subsidize the show. Anyway, it was a great show, and I think it is worth considering.

2025-08-29 09:59:45 +0000 UTCSeverance is a good pick. Very reactor-friendly, popular and a fun world. Some other thoughts - Ted lasso is a good vibe replacement for The Good Place. It's a little different from the sorts of shows you usually watch, but it's also about people trying to be good and self-improve. And Severance is pretty bleak, so it might be good to have as contrast. Another one to consider, the YouTube reactor classic - Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's a kid's show, but it has a surprising amount of depth and some truly great character arcs. Several channels were built on the back of reacting to this one, so I would expect it to do good numbers.
