Doctor Who 4x13 Journey's End CLEAN

Well, here we go... I think this is the season finale, it sure feels like it, but I've heard that there are several "specials" continuing from here until series 5. I just sit back and enjoy (when I'm not crying!) and don't question what they will give us 😅

My goodness, a beautiful and HEART WRENCHING episode. I adored it. One of my favourites, but to be honest.... Series 4 has contained many of my favourite Who episodes. It may end up being my favourite series of all time, but we will find out once I'm done with them all. It's The Doctor (this Doctor) and Donna. They both have taken my enjoyment of Who and propelled it into some other dimension, only accessible via a TARDIS. Just honestly a brilliant pair. I couldn't ask for more.

I hope you enjoy 💜

This part 2 was so so good. Seeing those dalek's spin always makes me laugh. I find them kinda cute to be honest and that scene always makes me smile. Rose having her human Doctor will forever be one of my top favourite things about this show. It brings so much joy to my heart to know that Rose got to live the rest of her days with the man she loved. I would love to think they got married and maybe had children. I love Donna's grandpa. The respect he has for The Doctor is so heartwarming. And it was indeed sad to see Donna go but she's alive and well so that's good.

Larissa Reimer

I know it's sad, but you gotta take the sad with the happy. You'll have plenty more to come. ☺️

Seeing your beautiful reactions to this show I have been watching since I was a child make me tear up thank you for these reactions I can see how much you're enjoying it <3

Oh my god, what an ending, just wish she knew how important she really was 💔 thanks for the video, another real eye sweat inducer 🥲 but still what an absolute banger getting to see the whole gang, (and more lmao hell yeah) 🥳

This series has captured my heart. I'm really pleased to hear there are still good times ahead, it's not all doom and gloom! What I love the most are emotional stories, a little bit of zany humour, lovable old people (WILF), and a little bit of evil drama. This series has just had it all. I think I'll treasure it forever 💜 I didn't know that David and Georgina had a son named WILFRED. That is amazing!!!

😭😭😭😭

AWWW this is such an awesome thing to read!!!

Thank you for letting me experience Donna through your eyes. It let me appreciate her and realize how much I've been sleeping on her, instead of just being mad that she's not Martha Jones.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand in the span of 10 minutes the Doctor loses his best friend, gives up the love of his life so she can be happy with someone else and said goodbye to his family so that they can live out their lives, all of this after re-experiencing a genocidal act at his hand and remembering everyone who gave their lives for him... Ten's gonna be a little angsty moving forward I think...

Aidan Fleming

This episode always turns me into a crying mess. We're all right there with you by the end! Super bittersweet ending for Donna, who became my favourite companion the more I rewatched the show! Still, there's some fantastic episodes coming up still in this season. Arguably some of the best they've ever done!

Chris Janes

Here's an image: Dory from FINDING NEMO saying, 'When I'm with you, I'm home. I don't want to forget.' Cut to Donna's face. Man, I'm a sadistic son-of-a-biscuit.

Martin Holt

Something to notice: at the end of every other season, we've had some kind of cliffhanger - a regeneration, the bride, the bloody Titanic, something to hook us for the next season. This time, it ends with the Doctor in the TARDIS, silent. Alone. Abandoned. Cue violin strings. Cutting into my heart.

Martin Holt

getting to see dr who at the proms as a kid is one of my fav childhood memories<3

Hal

... wait.... THAT IS SO TRUE

Juliette Gaming

This one was almost too much 😭😭😭 Donna is so much more than just a temp. She could never see how amazing she is.... I hope one day she knows and never doubts herself again. I adore her!! And that is cool to know we're coming up to where you started, Neil! I'm excited to see what you saw so long ago 😸💜

Juliette Gaming

Every piece of growth in her character cruelly lost. My Favourite pairing of all time. RTD making your heart soar & breaking it seconds later. In 2024 we are ironically in the week of the latest Doctor Who finale & I fully expect something similar is about to befall us all..😭 I'm going to the cinema next week with other Whovians to watch the final episode, it's likely to be emotional

Jason

Juliette when you said you were getting your happy ending, my heart was already breaking knowing what was ahead. I know that you had to watch it a second time to edit, and boy oh boy does it hit differently when Donna is shouting "no, no, no!" because you now know that she realizes the Doctor is about to perform a mind wipe. Series 4 was my favourite series for a long time. It's currently my second favourite, so if your mind works the same as mine, know there's an even better series coming. Donna is my second favourite companion, and the Tenth Doctor is my third favourite Doctor, but the Doctor (and) Donna is my favourite Doctor/Companion combination (followed by Seventh and Ace for those classic fans). David Tenant accepted his dream role on stage with a 1 year contract to play Hamlet in the Royal Shakespeare company, so in order to work around his schedule they could basically only commit to 5 episodes instead of a full series in 2010. That's basically the reason for the 5 specials. Oh, one final thought, you mention the chemistry between Tenant and Tate. They are basically best friends in real life, so just imagine that wonderful dynamic is exactly what you'd expect offscreen too. They also developed a strong connection with Bernard, who plays Wilf, so much so that David and his Wife Georgia named one of their sons Wilfred.

SeeJay

I was also going to suggest Juliette listen/watch this (in her own time). Oh and I'm called Colin too by the way, nice to meet you (initials CJ = SeeJay). I guess I'd be Colin 1of3 though, as my step dad and step brother are also called Colin LOL.

SeeJay

Ever since you said how much you loved Donna way back at the start of this season… my heart broke for you just thinking of the trauma of her fate this episode. It never fails to break my heart. She learned of her importance and to understand how special she is and now it’s gone. There’s nothing worse 😭😭

NNC

Before watching I left a comment so focused on Donna’s amazing exit that I had forgotten what an absolute wonderful roller coaster this entire episode is. I could go on and on but it would be repeating what so many others said, so I’ll just add an extra salute to Donna’s grandad Wilfred Mott, my favorite ever recurring companion’s friend/relative (and that’s saying a lot). He’s such a lovable character, played to perfection as a supporting character by the excellent actor Barnard Cribbins.

Paul Hess

The 10th doctor goes through so much and you can tell this hurt him deep down. His talk with wilf at the end is perfect as he represses his emotions even though he’s hurting deep down. Another great reaction!

Alfie Buxton

Oh my gosh, I never pieced that together. Talk about foreshadowing 😭

Melanie

I knew this was going to be a hard one for you. We all have a favorite Doctor and we all have a favorite companion and it's always hard to see them go. Rose and 10 were mine.

Jim

The first time the 10th Doctor kissed Rose, it wasn't really her (it was Cassandra) and the last time he kissed her, it wasn't really him (it was the meta-crisis Doctor).

OverWims

to clarify for Juliette, he gives a piece of the TARDIS so that Tentoo can grow his own TARDIS to use with Rose in the parallel world

OverWims

personally can't wait for the 3rd special (not saying name cos spoilers). My personal favourite episode.

OverWims

Such a phenomenal episode. Tennant ad Tate absolutely kill it. I think it was such a horrible end for Donna. To forget how special she was, and how much she did and how she saved the world...the worst kind of "death." Also insanely sad for the Doctor. He lost Donna, but also, Rose got her happy ending and what she wanted in a normal life, with a Doctor to grow old with, but the O.G. Doctor can never have that. The pain he must've felt letting her go once again and seeing his clone get to live a happy life with his love <3

x_Rhi_x

I can't wait to watch this with you (over on the full reaction, of course!). In terms of bests, I think Donna's exit here is the best exit of any companion, both Catherine Tate's Doctor-Donna performance and the Tennant's tribute speech at the end ... just amazing.

Paul Hess

Amazing episode, the emotional whiplash of being scared, excited, and crying your eyes out is such a Doctor Who trademark. And the specials coming next before Series 5 are pretty great too. Also just because you looked confused, Gwen Cooper at Torchwood is played by the same actress as Gwen from waaaay back in the Series 1 episode with Dickens and ghosts, so the Doctor+Rose immediately recognized her, and figured she was a descendant.

Wojo

Donna: The Doctor, I saw the Doctor. Dr Moon: Yes you did, Donna. And then, you forgot.

OverWims

Wow... nothing to say but wow. Still one of my favorite finales for Doctor Who. Donna is literally my favorite (well, she shares a place with Rose) companion. She is his equal, she is his best friend and soul sister. That's what I believe 🙏 Many people aren't actually fond of Tentoo (aka our Metacrisis Doctor) but I love that he's more human and that Rose finally gets her happy ending after all that time apart and Dimension Jumping. (It can't have been good for her, and I can't imagine the hope she went through every time, just to get it crushed before she found Earth and her Doctor) Oh, and there's actually an extra scene you can find on Youtube, and I'm so sad they cut it because it just is so beautiful. The Doctor gives Tentoo a piece of the Tardis. And then he says the most beautiful line: "The Doctor in the Tardis with Rose Tyler, just as it should be". And my heart just melts but hurts every time I watch it. (You can find it with many other deleted scenes if you just search for it) One of the most, if not the most beautiful love story in my opinion~🤍

Krista Han

I was waiting for this one. Series 4 is a banger, as are some of the specials afterwards. And Series 5 is completely different but also brilliant.

Keef Baker

I think the specials really emphasise how good the show is. The next string of episodes are 10/10 after 10/10.

The BBC Proms is an eight-week summer season of daily orchestral classical music concerts and other events held annually, predominantly in the Royal Albert Hall in central London. In 2008 A concert featuring the music of Doctor Who was held. It was broadcast inbetween the end of season 4 but before The start of the specials. So no worries about spoilers. It is hosted by Freema Agyeman. It is just over 93 mins long. I'm not asking for a reaction I just think that you would enjoy it. You must have needed to rehydrate after this one Juliette! One minute you're crying tears of happiness, and the next... Donna 😭😭😭 Never knowing all the amazing things she's seen & done, back to thinking she's just a temp 😭 The next season of Doctor Who is the only one I'd ever seen before you started your reactions so I'm excited to see what you make of it. Before that though it seems we've got a quite a few specials to get through. Can't wait!

Neil Hanson

While I did experience Tennant first and love s1-4, I really am excited to start s5 and a new Era

Jack Mingle

Looking forward to watching your reaction! This was indeed the season finale. The specials ran through Doctor Who’s ‘gap year’ which followed, mainly because of availability, etc, of actors, writers and production team. But I can’t really explain that further without giving things away onscreen! The main thing at the time was that we had a series of 1 hour+ specials to get us through a year without a full series!

Jeremy B

Oh yes, the Tennant-Doctor and Donna are absolutely fabulous. I thought this would stay my absolute favourite season of all time but luckily there are other Doctor/companion combinations who are also unbelievably strong. Obviously not telling you in more detail but don't fear there's more to look to forward to...
