Angel 1x04 I Fall To Pieces Full Reaction

I wanted to try something different with the thumbnail for this episode! I am finding Angel a bit harder to decide on screenshots for πŸ˜… It's all much darker, and sometimes hard to portray the episode from one little image!

A pretty creepy and disturbing episode... A bit gross! I liked it, and Angel once more saves the day πŸ₯°

Angel 1x04 I Fall To Pieces Full Reaction

I believe this episode is considered one of the worse of the series. And, yeah.

I agree with you that this scene is incongruous with vampire lore as established by the Buffyverse. However, I think that the writers intended that the shot just paralysed him (similar to how the tranquilzer gun in Buffy affects vampires but without all the thrashing and histrionics Angel displayed, after all evil Willow just said "B__ch" and fell over) and then it wore off. But it is never explicitly explained. Many TV shows have what is sometimes called "The Book" which is a record of what is or isn't possible, what has happened to whom and how, etc. With the plethora of writers and Joss Whedon's busy schedule on several shows, The Book (or Joss) may not have been consulted as often as needed.

I was grown up by my mom but had a more male form around me with mr brother and cousins. Showing emotion was you're not a man. I'm glad I grew out of that. All these Buffy and Angel moments I watched at the time I watched stone faced. Now when I re watch them and with newer shows...I'm a basket case. I find it very cathartic. And also, I still can't believe you're older then I am. I remember a reaction where you said you were older than Buffy and was floored. I thought you were in your late 20's at best.

I love this πŸ₯° I'm a little bit older than you, but I'm with you, I do think I'm becoming more soft as the years pass by as well. Just the littlest thing sometimes can be enough to make the tears flow but I love it... I wouldn't have it any other way πŸ’œ

I found your patreon when you were watching Firefly. When I watched these shows 20 years ago I was just gut up, don't cry. Now at 39 years old I tear up at the littlest of things. Growth I guess. So when you start to get even a little emotional I just want to hug you.

I'm not a big fan of this episode. The actors are all great, and the idea is wonderfully creepy, but I think the writing lets it down. You pointed out one example: the injection was supposed to slow Angel's heart, but his heart isn't even beating. So him falling down and staying down for so long just feels like a (bad) way to have the scene where the doctor attacks the others. I'm sure that could've been included in a better way. It's cool to see Kate again.

OMG I didn't recognise him! VERY cool!

Thank you so much, Ryan πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ’œ That is pretty much the best thing you could ever say and I'll need a ladder now to get down from cloud nine πŸ€£πŸ’œ

It's really weird, and definitely X-Files-y! I love that Angel seems to feature different villains than what we've seen in Buffy. Where does Joss come up with all this stuff 🀣

Thank you, Neil! It's been fun experimenting with a different style for the thumbnail! I might adjust this one a bit and put Angel on there so it's more noticeable but I really like having the two images πŸ˜€

You summed up this episode perfectly I'd say. Creepy, disturbing & gross indeed! The thumbnail design looks great by the way.

I figured you would like this episode because it does have some X-Files vibes. The part where the doctor throws his teeth always cracks me up. It's so ridiculous, but I love it.

I've watched a lot of Buffy/Angel reactors for years. You are my favorite. Not only do you react, you empathize. You remind me of myself when I watched an episode the first time. You are amazing. I love your head nods in conversations. It shows me you are 100% in, and I love that.

Ryan Martinez

I always forget the creepy guy in this episode also played D'Hoffryn. I love D'Hoffryn, but the character in this one is gross and creepy. lol

Britney

Thanks, Juliette for another gem. Yes, Angel is a bit darker than Buffy, however, the last few seasons of Buffy are not all sweetness and light, either. Andy Umberger, playing Ronald Meltzer, played D'Hoffryn, Anyanka's former demon boss in Doppelgangland. Of course he was under a lot of makeup. He also had a small part in an episode of Firefly, another Joss Whedon show.
