Hello everyone, here is this month's animation featuring Komi from Komi can't Communicate.
It's certainly been a while since I've seen a character win a poll by such a landslide.
Having seen the first season, I wasn't too big on it but I will certainly admit that Komi is quite cute. I was worried a bit at first that I wouldn't be able to come up with something for this one since it is just another school type setting, but Komi has a pretty unique aesthetic with regards to character design which I quite enjoyed animating.
Personally, I'm a big fan of the startled expression Komi often gets when interacting with others as well as the spontaneous cat ears so I tried to incorporate that into the animation a bit since it's super cute. I also feel like the new format turned out a little smoother than the last two animations, specifically the climax. I also tried to experiment with a few different camera cuts this time as well trying to learn Fusion in resolve 17 so I can get some smoother transitions. There was one cut in this animation where the camera pans from Komi's face to her chest and then back to her face which I think turned out really smooth. I'll continue experimenting with different cuts to try and eventually reach a format that feels very fluid with the various cuts.

Yeah I gotta say as someone who's not into them, the 3 back to back vtubers sure was a ride... 😅 I think overall there's no active push or anything though, just people voting for what they want to see and the polls happen to have popular non-vtuber options every time.

2022-09-01 00:21:47 +0000 UTCI'd love to see Okayu next, or even Kronii or Mythra. It kinda sucks that it feels like there's active push against you animating vtubers ever since you got Nyanners done. ^^; But yeah, looking forward to this one regardless.
