Pledge Tiers Changing!
Added 2015-05-03 20:24:31 +0000 UTCSo apparently art raffles are considered gambling, and according to Patreon's FAQs, that means they're not allowed. Even though a ridiculous number of creators here seem to be offering them. I'll still grant those really sketchy requests to anyone that shows up during streams when there's nothing else going on and I do think it's fair that you guys donating in the $5+ range be entitled to some more finished art of your choice, but I'm not entirely sure how to go about doing that in a way that everyone has a fair shot. that wouldn't be considered gambling. So...Ideas?

Rotating suggestions sounds like a possibility. Though a rather insane idea I had was an ad-libs kind of thing, whereas each backer past a certain tier can input a suggestion or word and thwn you mix them all up into an idea for a pic. XP "Huge" "Catgirl" "video game" "plumber" "cake" Though then you'd need to rotate which back got which specific section of the ad-lib such as "size" "character" "action" and the like.

This will definitely impact a lot of smaller Patreons that only exist to do raffles as a form of incentive. I guess you can conduct polls suggested by the 5$ backers, and making sure you as you complete each one you phase out/rotate the more popular suggestions (that we we don't end up with constant pictures of the same character or series). Unless you feel uncomfortable bending the rules you could always just edit/remove any references to a lottery system but the 5$ backers will know they are part of 'email win' system that they can be chosen for a pic of their choice. And when you upload a pic you just say the picture was suggested by a backer.
