The Acolyte S1E08 Watch A Long

Hey Peaches! We now know what happened 16 years ago, so that's one mystery down. But what of Qimir and his descent to the Dark Side? And what is Sol planing to do now that he's told Mae what happened? Can they land this plane in an enjoyable way, or will the rabbit hole go deeper?

I’m sad that so many didn’t buy the structure… I did. There’s something with strong emotions associated with Mae and Osha which makes them react as sharply and confusingly as they did. I’m not sure how much Sol knew, but he was on the right track that they’re playing off only one being somehow. By the end, Mae wants justice FOR Osha. She did all this thinking Osha was dead, and once she found out she wasn’t, it messed with her head. Then she wanted Osha to be at peace. She wanted to get Sol to admit the truth. She and Quimir respect the outcomes of real emotions. Reyancourt said the same thing. Deny emotion? Attachment? You’re going to snap. Something’s still up with him, but he’s not entirely wrong. In his own mind, Quimir in ep 5 was just following through on what the Jedi claim he is. People die? So be it. They said he can’t exist? Then wipe every trace of him out. 🤷‍♀️ Once Osha hears the devastating truth and reacts with pure anger, Mae wants her to own it. It’s ok to be furious, especially in grief. (This ignores the responsibility we need to take for our actions, but that’s probably a season 2 problem to solve.) Quimir wanted Mae gone once she turned on him, but then he wanted Osha as his acolyte, so that’s fine now. Mae doesn’t want Osha found or hurt, so she’ll go along with an excessive plan. Regarding Vernestra? She’s covering up something with Quimir and trying to hide that he even survived- something. The whip? Another failure? She only threw Sol under the bus to cover herself. She was telling Mae mostly the truth. I think she’ll tell Yoda too. She probably can’t hide it from him forever.

Disagree because there’s going to be a reason we haven’t heard from Rayencourt yet. He’s right about the Jedi for the wrong reasons.

I think Bazil thought Sol was in position to shoot Mae down? Maybe?probably a stretch

Sorry to be commenting as I watch but Adam, they mention hell twice in the OT

The HOT TO GO! / Acolyte Riff was truly a crossover made specifically for me

The scene with Master Vernestra and Senator Rayencourt could have fixed a few pacing issues if it was the part of the Prologue of the show. Cut it in after Mae kills Master Indara.

The "Girth" of the saber hilts lines up the current tech of that time. Like how cellphones where bricks back in the 80s and now we have wafer thin iPhones. Prior to what we've seen in this show. Lightsabers were tether to a generator that is strapped to hip of wielders.

90% sure yellow eyes dude in cave was Darth Plagueis

the biggest problem with the show was the editing, every scene was more or less good cool or well done. but pacing and the way they chopped the show up left a bad feeling in me. They actually managed to land the plane (maybe with the landing gear up), but now they need to greenlight season 2 cause otherwise this was a huge waste of time and money.

Agreed with every single point you had. So many things in here I like, especially in this episode, but it was so poorly and indulgently written that it didn't succeed.
