X-MEN- CH-78. The Moon
Added 2024-10-22 04:44:16 +0000 UTC"Oh, so you want to use our children for research?"
"Isn't it possible?" Ayesha asked.
"Of course not. You may not understand the concept of parents, but I do."
"Oh..." Ayesha suddenly said, "I see. Do you think I will study our child?"
"Isn't it?"
"No. Every individual gene of the Sovereign will be recorded in the gene pool. The disadvantageous ones will be eliminated, and the better ones will be retained. Nothing will happen to the child, and the data will be collected through the mother."
"When your genes enter my body, they will be detected by the Sovereign technology through the neural connection. I promise that if the child is successfully conceived, I will do my best to be a competent mother, and you will also be his father."
Martin looked at Ayesha and secretly tested her to make sure she was not lying, "Why aren't you wearing casual clothes today?" Martin asked, noticing her gorgeous outfit. Usually, when they met privately, Ayesha wore casual clothes, not something so formal and elaborate.
"You like it." Ayesha said with a smile on her face.
"Yes."
"Not everyone's genes are compatible with mine."
---
It turns out that even the Sovereign's blood is golden. Ayesha studied very hard and tried everything Martin knew. She hugged Martin's waist and looked up at his face, "Can you stay in Sovereign?"
Suddenly, she felt an unprecedented emotion in her heart, an emotion of reluctance.
Martin shook his head, "I'll come back here again."
Martin agreed to Ayesha, not only because he wanted to be with her but also because he wanted to test whether his and Ayesha's guess was correct. Regardless of the means, the Sovereigns had a very high level of technology, and their life forms were indeed higher than those of the free Earthlings.
However, in Martin's opinion, this advantage came at a high price. Basically, every Sovereign, including Ayesha, had lost their freedom. Orcs are never slaves; they are all slaves to technology.
Back to the point, if their guess was correct, then Ayesha should indeed be more likely to get pregnant than Raven and the others.
"Your cells contain very powerful energy, and they are all absorbed." Ayesha said suddenly.
"So..."
"I need more..."
---
When Martin returned to the room, Raven was already there, sorting out their harvest from the day.
Raven's nose twitched as she said, "Can you take a shower first?"
"Sure."
After taking a shower, Raven said unhappily, "I just didn't watch you for a while, and you acted recklessly."
"Come here." Martin said, opening his arms.
Raven rolled her eyes at Martin but still got into his embrace, "Shall we go home?"
"Earth?"
"Yes."
Martin looked at Raven as she said, "It's not just because of this. I feel I've had enough fun. I'm a little homesick. Besides, there will be plenty of opportunities in the universe in the future. I suddenly feel very bored. Maybe the universe is not suitable for me."
"And you say it has nothing to do with Ayesha's affairs."
"..." Raven was silent for a moment and then said, "Yes, it is related, but what can I do? I have always been by your side, but you..."
"I'm sorry; I should have considered your feelings."
"Um..."
After a while, Martin said, "Okay, let's go back and leave tomorrow."
Raven nodded.
The next morning, the two found Ayesha and said goodbye to her. Ayesha looked a little unhappy. She felt like her husband was being taken away by someone, even though she didn't even know what a husband was. No emotions, just unhappiness.
"Will you come back?"
"Yes, and... we have someone we can contact at any time."
The spacecraft's communicator could communicate across the stars.
"I'm not pregnant." Ayesha suddenly said.
"Either the guess is wrong, or even I can't match you in terms of vitality."
But she had already collected Martin's genetic information, and surprisingly, there was nothing to be gained; it was just ordinary human genes. No different from the worst genes in the Sovereign gene pool. Martin's ability must be due to the possibility of freedom he mentioned. If Martin knew, he would just say: Sorry, I'm cheating.
"Let it be. Although the chance is small, there is still a long future ahead."
After they said goodbye, Martin and Raven got into the car, which was personally driven to their Phoenix One by Pauline.
Raven seemed to be in a good mood because she was going home, "Where is the destination?"
"The Moon."
The battleship is too big, and there is no place to park it when we drive it back. They can't park it at someone else's place, as it is their private property. After they get to the Moon, Martin will build an underground space to park the battleship there, and they will take the Shapely back.
The helipad at home was always empty, and there was just enough space for the Shapely to park.
"The satellite will detect it." Raven said as she set the destination.
"Just let it see. I don't care. If they want to attract its attention, they'll be killed."
"You sound a bit murderous." Raven teased.
Every time they talked about topics related to the U.S. government, Martin always became impatient, and they didn't know how they had offended him. The only person he knew of was William Stryker, but he was dead.
"Why do you hate them so much?" Raven asked curiously.
"Haha, who doesn't hate them?"
"Hahaha..."
No one doesn't hate them. Going home is always full of joy.
The passage of time became unnoticeable, and Phoenix One soon entered the solar system. Looking at the familiar sun in the distance, Martin pointed to a very distant, almost undetectable white dot and said, "We'll be there soon."
Raven smiled and said, "I can't wait any longer."
It had been a month since the two left Earth.
"Hehe..."
Martin looked at the happy Raven and pointed to the front of the battleship. Raven looked in that direction and saw a huge blue portal ahead. Phoenix One passed through it and appeared on the surface of the Earth the next moment.
The Moon was desolate and seemed to have nothing in it. But Martin could sense the existence of life underground on the far side of the Moon; however, that was none of his business. After driving the Shapely out and parking it, the two decided to go for a walk. Martin was going to open up an underground space to park the Phoenix One, and Raven had nothing to do, so she went out to play as well.
"Remember to bring protective clothing; the Moon is not suitable for human survival."
"Do you need me to tell you?" Raven replied, taking out the protective suit given by Yondu. She put it on herself, then pressed a switch, and a layer of blue energy enveloped her.
"Hehe."
