Nick Wilde wakes up after the ZPD Christmas party to find out he brought a few party favors home with him... Enjoy!
*************
"Ough…"
Nick groaned loudly, massaging his forehead. It was the day after ZPD's Christmas party, and he was feeling it. The first fox officer in Zootopia didn't really know what to expect from a Christmas party hosted by the likes of Chief Bogo, with Judy serving as the party planner, but apparently the Zootopia Police Department's unofficial motto was "work hard, play hard," because whatever had happened last night, it left the fox with a pounding headache and a sense of dislocation that didn't leave anything feeling quite right. He could barely remember anything from last night, which meant it was easily the best party he had been to in years.
With that in perspective, the fox pulled himself up— he felt so heavy, and with his head swimming, he was tripping over himself a lot. He bounced off the bathroom doorframe, still trying to shake the sleep from his eyes, and then, once he blinked his eyes adjusting to the light, he froze. The fox staring back at him was four, five times the size Nick had been when he had gone to bed— maybe even more. For a few moments, he was stunned, staring at himself, mouth agape. His body now overfilled the bathroom mirror, with a neck like a rhino's, shoulders that overfilled the mirror's sides, and a chest made up of two huge, meaty slabs that mashed together when he tried to squeeze his arms in against them just to get a better look at himself, his arms also swollen with muscle and roped with thick, meaty burls of brawn.
Nick dumbfoundedly touched and squeezed at his own body, meaty swells of muscle resisting his attempts to squeeze or press it down, as if he could smooth his fur out and be back to normal. Finally, he found his voice. "C-Ca-Carrots…! Judy!"
A few minutes later, where Judy had to talk the now massive fox through squeezing through the bedroom door without buckling the foundation, Nick was seated on the couch, his enormous bulwark lats taking up almost the entire breadth of the couch, hunched over as he watched Judy pace back and forth.
"I… I don't understand!" the rabbit shook her head. "I left you for one night, and…!" She gestured to Nick's huge body. "This happens! What— how did this happen?"
"I don't know, Carrots!" Nick gestured, his huge arms flexing, biceps bouncing from his animated movements.
"Okay, let's just take a deep breath and think about this," Judy said. "I left the party a little after eleven to start my night shift. You were normal then. So… what could've happened between then and… When did you even get home?"
"I don't know! I keep telling you, the whole night is a blank to me!" Nick said.
"This does explain the broken elevator, though…" she muttered.
The huge fox looked up. "I broke the elevator? What, I was too big for it, broke the hydraulics?"
"Uh… more like folded the metal doors into origami…" Judy said. "I honestly thought it was a piece of modern art when I first saw it."
"Oh that's just perfect," Nick muttered, running his hand over his head, bicep mashing against his cheek. His ear flicked a bit— feeling all that brawn adorn him, the mass of his own body, muscles pressed up against him— it was not an entirely uncomfortable feeling.
Judy's ears flicked, her nose twitching watching all that muscle in motion, but then she shook her head. "Okay, okay, let's focus, here… We got to try and retrace your steps. What were you doing right after I left?"
Nick puffed up his cheeks, pushing air out. "Uhm, uh… Oh! I… I remember that I ducked out of sharing another donut with Clawhauser because he was gushing about Gazelle's latest song… Then, uh… Oh!" He snapped his fingers. "Bogo invited me to share a few jell-o shots with me."
"You drank with Bogo?" Judy gasped. "No wonder you can't remember anything! He's a buffalo, Nick!"
"Oh, is he? I never noticed the two tons of bad attitude that rumbled in every morning dispatch. Keen eye, Inspector." The fox grumbled. Judy punched him in the arm. "Wow, violent much?"
"Please, like you can even feel that with all… this on you." She gestured, her nose twitching as she stared a few seconds longer than she should have at the fox's sculpted torso.
"Hey, hey, just because I can't physically feel it doesn't mean it doesn't hurt here." Nick touched his huge chest. But he did glance thoughtfully back at his arm— she was right, he hadn't felt a thing.
Judy arched her brow flatly, hands on her hips as the fox gave her a shit-eating grin. "Well, good to know your personality is still intact." Again, she had to stop herself from staring. "Okay, you drank with Bogo. I saw Clawhauser and Bogo when I gave in my time card— they were normal, and they didn't mention anything to me… and I think Bogo would've mentioned if the one fox on the force was suddenly bigger than him. I… Nick. Nick!"
The fox had been looking down at his own pecs, bouncing one after another. "What? I'm listening, I'm listening!" He looked up to Judy, and grinned, puffing up his chest. "You think I'm bigger than Bogo?"
"Oh my God, it's like you're losing IQ points by the second…" Judy muttered, tugging on her ears. "What happened after drinking with Bogo?"
"I…" Nick spread his hands. "I think I ended up in the lockers. There was… Someone. A big someone."
"Can you remember anything else?" Judy asked.
"He… He dropped something." Nick massaged his forehead. "He left in a real hurry when he heard someone else coming… There was…. something glowing, something red…"
"Wait, wait," Judy held her hands up. "There's a suspicious guy in the locker room, he drops something glowing red, and you… what, drank it?"
"I was sloshed, Judy! I must have thought it was another jell-o shot!" Nick said. "And… the next thing I remember is waking up. I did have… a lot of really, uh. Charged dreams…"
"Yeah, I noticed— we're getting new bed sheets," Judy muttered. "Okay, okay… You had to get home somehow, and the car isn't… you know, wrecked. Which means you walked home…" She tapped her chin. "I have an idea. Just chill out and uhm… try and cover up."
Nick blinked. "With what, the curtains?!"
Judy turned on her computer, logging into her ZPD account. "Oh… Oh, wow."
The massive fox looked over her shoulder. "What's 'wow'?"
"Well…" Judy showed him the screen, with several notices of misdemeanors, that seemed to show a shambling route between the station and their apartment. "We've got reports of… smashed brick walls, light poles twisted into bows, cars stacked up on top of each other…"
"I can lift cars?" Nick grinned a bit, puffing up his chest again, casually flexing his arm."
"Nick. Focus." Judy pulled up a case file, with a photo attached. "There's also this."
"Oh…" the fox's mouth twisted. Two other animals were squeezing into the frame of a picture they took with someone massive, showing off a brick wall of chest muscles and cobblestone brick abs. The very lowest part of Nick's muzzle was in frame, smiling toothily. "So… I went on a bender and did a lot of muscle man party tricks?"
"Evidently."
Nick whistled low, leaning in closer until his pecs rested on top of Judy's head, making the rabbit shiver. "So… what now?"
"Well, right now, we need to, uhm…" her foot started kicking against the floor. "Nick, could you… could you ease up a bit? Thanks. We're gonna need to find out who did this to you…"
"Yeah, and find out if they have more of a supply…" Nick muttered, admiring his pumped bicep as it filled his field of view.
"Nick. This is serious!"
"I know, I know! Judy, look." Nick draped his huge arms over the rabbit, engulfing her entirely. "We'll figure this out." He tugged her closer, pressing her against his rippling abs, a bicep larger than her torso pinning her against him. "But in the mean time, I'm feeling a little… nervous, you know? I don't know what this stuff did to me, and you had basic medical training… so, maybe you can uh. Give me a quick health check?"
"A-a health check?" Judy felt her cheeks growing warmer.
"Mmhm… Just, be thorough, okay Carrots? Then, straight to work. Don't worry— I wanna find this guy just as much as you do."
