You gotta admit, the current Emperor seems like a pretty ok dude. He's generous, and he doesn't seem to lord his position over everyone. He seems like a pretty loving dad, and he's got a sense of humor. He likes having his flower garden, but considering the infant mortality rate we've seen in this show I think its hard to look poorly on it. This is a society where you obviously need a lot of back ups. And at least he isn't a creep about it. And let's be real, Gyokuyou is his favorite, she has to be bending his ear about how adorable Jinshi is over Maomao, and how useful MaoMao is. Jinshi also seems like a total mommas boy, which means he has also probably told his "mom?" About Maomao too.
