2024-09-11 01:24:13 +0000 UTCPersonally, (obviously don't know how other's feel about this), I would like the WOW picks to be a more consistent thing. I know you basically devoted a whole month to the WOW selections recently (which was much appreciated), but as a whole they happen a little less than ideal imo. For a while there, they more or less happened once a week, which (to me) seemed appropriate, but even at that rate( 1 per wk) given the amount of nominations on the list it might be potentially more than TWO YEARS before your selection is chosen, and that's assuming the list won't grow longer (which assuming your channel keeps growing is unlikely). And, as stated, even that one per week rate isn't really a thing anymore (or at least hasn't been recently). So, again just my POV, maybe I put more importance on the WOW picks than most, and I'm definitely not attempting to tell Ames how to run her channel. Just expressing my opinion.

2024-09-10 20:51:53 +0000 UTCWhile I love many of the movies that are considered sci-fi, I'm personally not a fan of the term as it basically ends up being a label slapped on anything set in "the future" or in outer space. Frankly, there's more science fiction in most bio-pics about famous mathematicians and scientists. Any chance of breaking down these large genres into smaller sub-genres? For example: instead of Classics go for Classic 50's. Instead of Foreign go for French New Wave. Instead of Directors go for directors whose names rhyme with Pronenberg.

I have had a lot going this past week - truly my mind and heart have been completely occupied with life’s happenings and therefore I wasn’t being extra creative. Sci fi is popular here and I love it and it would only be one movie for next week. Anywho!!I’m happy to pivot. Kill the POLL and swap it to something else like directors / actors/ or we can nominate the first “6 degrees movie” Cause I forgot about all of these ideas with my mind being at full capacity ! If you go purely by plurality voting (most votes wins), Ames' channel will certainly follow the same path (and we'll get the exact same reactions as other channels). I'd hate to see that happen

2024-09-10 17:13:51 +0000 UTCHey, I don't mind doing a stretch of sci-fi.....especially if it means that "classics" like "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers" or "Forbidden Planet" have a chance to win! It's a fave genre of both the reactor herself and obviously many of the subscribers. (I'm NOT inordinately Mr. Sci-Fi, and it certainly doesn't bother me to have one more spin o' the wheel, while we're in the sci-fi head. Then we can say goodbye to it for a bit! The itch will be scratched!)
