Hello !
I didn't know if this final episode of the show was written to be the final one, so I had little expectations : maybe no closure for the relationship between the priest and our girl, but at least Claire leaving her husband. And for me, the main story of the show since day one, was about the fact that our girl lost Boo, her best friend and needed someone to talk with, so she created "the viewers" to share all of her thoughts. Because she had also issues to be truly herself with people, in her relationships.
For that last point, we saw that she evolved a lot between season 1 and season 2. She takes care of herself now, and she tries to do and say now what she truly wants to do and say. But our girl learnt through that relationship with the priest that she can be loved for herself if she opens herself to people. And that's why I'm okay with these two finishing together, because they gave something to each other (for him, the ultimate confirmation he wants to be a priest). And for me, the show had to end like that, with our girl saying goodbye to "the viewers" because she doesn't need us anymore.
