I wanted this episode to end. I WAS SO MAD during almost all of it, and even the end which was so emotional was a lot to take. Nynaeve faced her dark past, the present and her dreamy future into the Arches. And I knew she would manage to come back from the last one : that dreamy future can't happen, she can't escape from the war, it's gonna happen no matter what and it's gonna threaten people she loves. It has to be her reason to get involved : she wants to protect them. And that future, that kid, she's gonna them, soon enough.
Liandrin made me beyond mad : I need someone to face her, to put her back at her real place. She's not a villain and I don't want her to be killed, but please slap her or let me do it ! What she said to Matt, like it's too easy to manipulate and say bad stuff to someone who is desperately alone. And putting the responsibility of what happened to Nynaeve on Egwene, to hire Min to be a fake friend for Matt… She's not a villain but as a human being, she's evil. I was so mad at the end, like I suspect everyone to be a snitch, I see betrayal everywhere.

For what I know of Nynaeve, her biggest fears wouldn't be for her, but really for people she loves, so to loose them. And with the first one being about his parents, I guessed they would do a past/present/future. And yes, when the girls explained things to Egwene about burrying your pain and shut up about it... I understood more why Moiraine is dealing with her trauma like that. Uno's death was shocking, but for me who doesn't know these new people, it helped me understood how serious they are !!

2023-09-07 07:00:02 +0000 UTCI love how well you were able to predict the fears Nyneave would face in the arches. You should indeed be proud of yourself for how spot on you were. Good point connecting Moraine's reaction to her trauma with the messages the girls are receiving as part of the training in the tower about burying your pain and not sharing it with others. I hadn't considered that. And yes, I was also mad at this episode. Poor Uno's death was so brutal and shocking. I did not believe it, and had to pause the episode and step away for a moment. The whole episode was so intense. But here we are less than a week later and I can't wait for the next one. I'm excited to be along on the journey with you.
