I was truly surprised by this episode. The fact that Tanjiro won in fact so quickly against that demon : he was one of the Twelve, so I thought he would be more difficult to kill in fact. But I loved that again we discovered his past, and that Tanjiro offered him that end, knowing that his arts were appreciated by someone. I love so much how respectful Tanjiro is with everyone, like right there with the demon, but also the little kids. And I was also surprised by Zenitsu.
Because here, he was not dreaming or in trance while he was protecting Tanjiro's box, knowing that it was a demon inside. It was truly himself who was that brave and also that loyal to his new friend. Because he already knows how nice he is, he heard the sweetness of his heart in a way. And he was ready to die to protect that demon. With that parallel to when Nezuko protected one of her siblings. That can be only the beginning of a long and loyal friendship between these two. Zenitsu understood the importance of that demon for Tanjiro, was ready to die to protect it just because he trusts him that much, and Tanjiro saw it and ran to defend his friend.
