Roleplay poll 48 & QOTW!
Added 2024-05-20 03:58:19 +0000 UTCHello Ali cats, I hope you all had a nice weekend :) This Friday’s character is going to be a “cute” plushie girl so I hope you’re looking forward to it! Next week I thought it would be fun to do a story centering around ghost hunting. I have an idea that I’d like to try but for now I’ll keep it secret :P
From these choices let me know how you’d like your ghost hunting partner to act- choose the one you think is most interesting :)
Question of the week is this: why do you listen to ASMR roleplays or ASMR in general? Despite making roleplays I don’t listen to many myself. I usually lean towards other ASMR genres (mainly gaming or rambling). I’m sure this is the most popular answer but I listen to it to help relax and chill, especially when I’m stressed or had a long day.

It's funny you say they were dark because one of my favorite shows back then was one called Dark Matters Twisted but True, and the host/narrator is Denethor from LotR.

2024-05-23 00:40:34 +0000 UTCI didn't explain myself well enough. Maybe I'm wrong, but reading a book and having a good drink with it. Sounds like a very relaxed evening to me. I am also someone who can be very interested in a story so bad, that I can only survive the next workday with only a caffeine overdose. And first and foremost, ASMR roleplays are stories for me eyes. But what do I mean by help me to fall asleep? I listen to the ASMR roleplays again and again, until I fall asleep. Some stories work better than others. (I don't know why, but the best story to fall asleep to at the moment is with the Wendigo)

2024-05-22 23:52:34 +0000 UTCI can see that! I’ve listened to roleplays that entertained me more than put me in a relaxed state. I see a lot of them more as entertainment, kind of like reading or watching a movie. I think you said it best in viewing them like anime/comics. They tell an interesting story while combining immersive sounds which is neat! :)

2024-05-22 01:32:01 +0000 UTCI get the tv thing as a kid for real. I use to fall asleep to television all the time so having someone just talking/rambling is really relaxing to me. It makes me forget things temporarily and just chill which is something I think we all need sometimes! My grandpa watched the history channel all the time so I’m very familiar with those documentaries. Even though some are a bit dark I still find them comforting in a way. Not sure if it’s because it reminds of my grandpa or just the background sound while falling asleep lol.

2024-05-22 01:26:39 +0000 UTCThanks for sharing Mi-kotin! I definitely agree with you on the stories. I absolutely love stories in all forms and I think adding the sound aspect can make things interesting and more immersive. The roleplays I do find myself watching/listening to tend to focus a lot on storytelling. More times than not I end up getting more interested than sleepy haha! XD

2024-05-22 01:16:37 +0000 UTCI definitely agree! When it comes to certain types of gaming ASMR, I like to listen to those when I’m doing something else. If I want to sleep I find myself drifting more towards the rambles or pure sound audios. I love hearing why others like ASMR and the types they enjoy so thanks for sharing yours! ^_^

2024-05-22 01:12:06 +0000 UTCOh, glass tapping is super nice! Definitely one of my favorite triggers. I remember my first ASMR roleplay was one by Vox Akuma but I vaguely remember one that centered around Bakugo from MHA too, I just didn’t know what it was at the time. I have no idea who voiced it, but I was really into that character so I think my recommendations were being based on videos of him while watching the anime haha! I do like that subtitle idea! Funny that I say that the day YouTube wanted to give me trouble with subtitles lol xD Not sure why but they never wanted to load no matter how many times I tried. But yes, I’d love to do more with my subtitles in the future for sure :)

2024-05-21 05:27:58 +0000 UTCI thought that name sounded familiar and then I remembered: someone a while back asked if I was them haha! I had never heard them before so I was very confused by their question. You saying they are Scottish though- definitely not me! I wish I could do a Scottish accent. Maybe I’ll try one day but I may embarrass myself ;///; I definitely get your reasoning though! Just like with other things I too find myself going in and out of likes, habits, etc. Sometimes life does that but it’s not always a bad thing. Having a new job will change your schedule so it’s very understandable. So long as you are enjoying what you spend your time on that’s all that matters. Like you said, videos will always be there later! :) I’m glad you enjoyed the songs too! It makes me happy when I can introduce music to someone :D

2024-05-21 04:57:26 +0000 UTCReading your comment made a lot of sense to me! I associate static and television sounds with comfort since I always fell asleep as a kid with something playing. To some people that may be annoying or loud but even now I love having something playing on the TV when going to sleep ^_^ Thanks a bunch for your good wishes, I really appreciate it! The job hunt is a bit slow unfortunately. I’m not giving up hope though, someone will call back eventually! Until then I’m just going to keep drawing my heart out :P

2024-05-21 04:44:26 +0000 UTCMy ASMR experience started out with curiosity too. I remember seeing someone opening up Pokemon cards very quietly and was confused at first haha! Ever since then though it’s been fun finding new stuff ^_^

2024-05-21 04:39:05 +0000 UTCAwesome! Lol posted just before I became a member so that's why I didn't see it, I'll have to give it a listen tomorrow! I'll be listening to the wolf audio soon and will probably fall asleep to that haha But just reading the comments "eyeless girl" nope! Don't like that one bit lol so I'll just say a funny ghost story, my last place I lived at is my dad's place and also the one with the most paranormal activity, well, the night before I moved down to this awesome state (no sarcasm) I was telling him about all the spooky stuff that I've experienced, and as if on queue, his cars headlights came on, on their own, shining into the living room we were in. He went out to investigate, and when he was about 10 feet away, the headlights turned off... I've never seen that man so spooked, and he did not let me continue on with the stories that both myself, and a girl I was dating had experienced there haha oh, also, I honestly think I startled a ghost there

2024-05-21 04:26:23 +0000 UTCAww, thanks! I’m very glad to hear that :D It always makes me happy to hear I can relax and entertain so that means a lot. I think the reason I don’t listen to a lot of story based ASMRs personally is because I get too invested in the story. I end up becoming more intrigued and less tired haha! The ones where it’s just sounds or rambling always put me right to sleep :P

2024-05-21 04:22:58 +0000 UTCIf you go to my collections tab there’s one called “other videos” I believe. I did a ramble about ghosts, etc. with some art footage in the background if you’d like to listen! :D

2024-05-21 04:07:23 +0000 UTCHaha, that’s exactly the type of character I picture the know it all being! XD I’ve never found myself getting sleepy to a story based ASMR, but man, rambles and playing a chill game gets me every time. I can’t count the number of times my phone has fell on my face from dozing off lol.

2024-05-21 04:03:55 +0000 UTCThat’s pretty neat! I always thought it would be fun to make my own model sometime :D I’ll probably need to wait and get a better PC first but I think streaming in the future would be a lot of fun ^_^

2024-05-21 04:00:01 +0000 UTCOoh! Which one was that? Have to listen to it lol maybe something will be similar to something I've experienced

2024-05-21 03:14:38 +0000 UTCOh dang, sounds like you’ve experienced quite a bit of paranormal stuff! I did an audio a while back talking about some of mine on here. One in particular still creeps me out to this day Dx I don’t know how I fully feel about it all but I can’t deny there’s something weird out there for sure.

2024-05-21 02:56:28 +0000 UTCI guess I'm a bit unusual since I listen to asmr for entertainment instead of relaxation. I'm so tired at the end of the day that I don't need any help to relax! When listening to asmr in general, I enjoy how the nice sounds make my ears feel good, but mostly I listen to roleplay for the compelling narrative and likeable characters. In that sense, I put it in the same category as anime and comics.

2024-05-21 00:49:45 +0000 UTCI originally started listening to asmr that was just quiet talking informative videos, I think it's because when I was a kid I'd leave the tv on discovery or history channel. Then I found out that there was asmr with cute girls and listened to that, then I found asmr roleplays. After reading a few other comments, I'm pretty similar to others in that I listen to asmr to get my brain to shut up. It's probably being overwhelmed with so much stuff during the day that causes it. I have some other ideas as to why I think people listen to it but I think the main one is just trying to settle down the brain.

2024-05-20 23:12:55 +0000 UTCI listen to ASMR because I can relax and concentrate better. Why? It helps me to stop thinking. And ASMR roleplays are the best to help me relax and fall asleep. Why? I think because I really like stories, no matter what form they are told in. (books/games/pictures/music/... ) And I think the combination of story and relaxing sounds why I enjoy it so much.^^
Mi-kotin
2024-05-20 20:23:14 +0000 UTCI listen to a variety of ASMR content. I watch the gaming or eating ones when I just want some background noise as I’m doing something else. Some role-plays I watch for the romance/pseudo-intimacy (who doesn’t like a bit of romance!). Other role-plays which are like yours I watch to get comfy and sleepy, and personally directed affection helps with that. The major thing with ASMR is what kind of sounds there are. Human or environmental sounds make different ASMR suitable for different purposes. In times of stress, it helps a lot too.

2024-05-20 17:18:58 +0000 UTCIs this a Ghostbusters reference or is it just ironic? Either way, it's better if it's protective because much like I'd rather defend someone else, it's at least beneficial to have someone also defend you. For the question of the week, here's how it started: I looked into asmr like 3 years ago(at least I think anyways :P ) I remember listening to tapping of glass with echoes throughout the microphone and it just gave me shivers down my spine, almost as if I was finally feeling relaxed. Later on, I started listening to roleplay audios where it felt like I was also talking with that person, even if it was a friend's to lovers type of deal(Also even if they had subtitles on it stating what you are thinking in the roleplay, or what you are saying in the roleplay, pretty good idea if you wanna try it yourself Alichu). Even with a lot of time passing and a little less tingles being sent, I still can feel something of focus whenever it comes to anything asmr related, whether I'd be following someone's instructions, or just viewing art in general.

2024-05-20 14:42:47 +0000 UTCFunny you ask that question now, because I recently no longer really listen to ASMR that much like I used to. It's really only you and occasionally TrashPandaASMR - the latter because there aren't many Scottish roleplay ASMRtists that use the anime aesthetic. And that's something that's usually associated with American creators, so it's almost strange hearing a Scottish girl gently calming and comforting the listener in that same style that you do. I know this is the case for every country, but Scotland has some junk rats for people; sweaty clothes, raspy voice, heavy slang, bad smell. Whilst at the same time; I see the most gorgeous women and handsome men - it's a weird mixture! Back to the point. The primary reason I don't listen that much anymore is because I used to fall asleep to ASMR; headphones in bed. But now, as an early riser, I turn off all devices and read my book until I feel sleep. Which means it's no longer a daily thing like it used to be. And with my (still relatively new) job, I have less time during the day to listen. Hence, why you may have noticed I haven't been keeping up with your YouTube audios. I'm back on track now - though mainly with Patreon audios since the YouTube videos will always be there whatever happens (or as long as YouTube deices to play games again). Sorry for that ramble. hehe Thanks for reading if you got to the end of it. And by the way, I didn't know about "V.A.N" by Bad Omens - that was a cool song! Thanks for letting me know about it. Also, I'll have you know; I still listen to Kim Dracula's "Drown" to this day. Catchy af Throughout March, that song has been stuck in my head everyday during work. And earlier this month, I embraced it's pull on me and saved it. Thanks for that lmao

2024-05-20 14:42:05 +0000 UTCI'm the same on that last part - it needs to be a script I already know, then I know what I can expect and when to listen carefully for that good trigger that happens at 4:17 timestamp (example lol).

2024-05-20 14:00:28 +0000 UTCWhy do I listen to ASMR, huh? I started listening to it with roleplays - Heather Feather's ear doctor appointment, anyone? - and it simply stuck with me. I'm overly anxious with a brain that refuses to stop, so the only way for me to fall asleep if my body isn't crumbling already is to drown it with logical, continuous sounds performed in a structured mannered... so talking. Might stem from how my mother's house's walls and ceiling-floors are thin and the staircase only amplified the sound of her TV as I was upstairs, ergo it makes me feel safe. :' )) WOW THIS GOT DEPRESSING. Hoping you're having some luck with finding a job!! Summer is coming soon, many places will want a mature goth big sis in their summer squad. :3 YOU CAN DO IT!

2024-05-20 11:44:40 +0000 UTCI guess I mostly listen to ASMR out of a sense of curiosity. Never put much thought into it, but listening to someone else's whispers is nice. The role play ones I like for the stories that are told.

2024-05-20 10:08:56 +0000 UTCI also listen to ASMR to relax primarily. More specifically, my brain likes to run away with thoughts and never shut down when I try to sleep, ASMR replaces the noise my brain makes with relaxing noise that keeps my brain from thinking about anything else. Eventually I’ll listen long enough to where I get sleepy and then I’ll shut it off and go to bed. Your ASMR is actually kind of an exception to where I genuinely think you make fun stories, so I listen to you mostly for the entertainment factor haha, not to say yours isn’t relaxing though! You’re one of three ASMRtists who’s audios I’ve actually fallen asleep to, the other two being Fauna and Amano Nene

2024-05-20 09:26:30 +0000 UTCDefinitely voting for know-it-all, sounds like a fun and unique idea, will she be following us around going "um actually ghosts aren't real ☝️🤓"? I usually listen to asmr either going to sleep or as background entertainment while I'm doing something boring. However the sleep inducing ones have to be non story-based or audios I've already heard before otherwise I'll get sad that I fell asleep midway through and missed the ending.

2024-05-20 09:19:51 +0000 UTCSpeaking of ASMR there’s this brand new talent agency called Vallure. That debuts on June 1. They specialize in ASMR content creators and other stuff I think. You should check them out on your free time. Who knows you could be there on the big screen in the future.

2024-05-20 05:43:55 +0000 UTCLooking forward to Friday's audio! Hmm... I'd say scaredy-cat, since that's a sharp contrast to how I am with the paranormal usually, lived in so many haunted places, seen apparitions, heard them, seen floating objects, had objects thrown at me that I'm quite calm in haunted situations, helps that i also use charmsand wards though, I did not enjoy seeing handprints that weren't my own appear in my shower while I was using it though... but lol I was so used to the paranormal that when I moved into my apartment which isn't haunted, it did not feel right at all, felt empty, I do have a few funny stories at my last place though lol and one that truly made my uncomfortable, oh, I was not the only one to experience things at that place either And yea, I'm pretty sure you're right with the answer to your question, that's the main reason I listen to asmr, helps sooth the runaway mind lol
