The $3 Tier & Patreon Page Changes

This month has been quite hectic with decisions about Patreon, and the general development workload which has been quite demanding this month.

In this post, I want to discuss the $3 Tier which will be replacing the $1 Tier as soon as this post is live. The reasoning for this is primarily how Patreon does its payment processing. The other is the Patreon Page is getting one final overhaul!

Why is it being increased?
Right now with how things are if you're pledging $1 to us only about half of that is actually received by us. The rest is lost in processing charges by Patreon and Paypal, and to take full advantage of the system so that you get more bang for your buck is to increase our lowest tier to $3. Basically, if we have a larger amount of patrons with small pledges, then processing fees will be a larger percentage of the overall earnings. If you have just a few patrons with large pledge amounts, then processing fees will be a smaller percentage of the overall earnings.  At $1 the more that people pledge to it the less efficient the tier becomes.  

How will this effect the current $1 Patrons?
You will be able to stay a $1 Patron in the legacy tier, however, you'll lose access to the "latest version after a week" benefit. Those in the $1 tier will still have access to the development update posts.
If you're a $1 Patron I'd like to ask that you consider increasing your pledge to $3 since the $1 benefits will be transferred there. No one new can join the legacy tier and once you leave it you cannot rejoin. If you've already been assigned your discord role you'll also keep that.

Lastly, the Patreon Page.
As we grow and get closer to meeting our development goals we decided that we should have a general theme for the "studio" and that should be reflected on the Patreon Page. Currently, it's more in line with Uni's theme since that's the only project we're working on right now, but we will make more games at some point in the future with this amazing community.
Since Airi is our mascot we're going to go with her theme, soon the Patreon page will reflect that, and will definitely be easier on the eyes. You can already see a sample with the new tier images!
