What's In My Bag: Cam Edition

You can tell a lot about someone by what's in their bag. Our Ro’s are no different.

(It took me a bit to find all the pieces and edit them into the photo and gif, but I think it does a pretty good job of showing what you’d find if your MC had the misfortune of going through their bags.)

First up is Cam's-

• Camera -
  It says a lot about him that his camera cost more than his mattress.

  Despite the backpack looking like it’s on its last legs, the camera — which he calls Edi — is packed away meticulously. Extra lenses, cloths, and enough padding to survive a tumble down a flight of stairs (Cam would know).

  The bag might look like it’s been through hell, but the camera? Still as pristine as the day he graduated.

• Extra camera batteries & SD cards -
  You’d think having a spare set would be a given. It is… just not to him.

  There are only so many times he can ask someone (cough MC) to bring him more mid-shoot. The last time ended with a bet, a game of pool, and Cam being stuck on dish duty for a month.

  At least now he’s slightly more responsible when it comes to backup gear.

• Pens and pencils -
  Does he actually use them? Not really.
  Did he steal them from MC’s desk at Infinity? Absolutely.

• Phone -
  Cam swears the spiderweb crack creeping across the screen is fine. Totally fine.
  The back of the case is another story — concert ticket, random photo, some mystery cat sticker. A little bit of mess. A little bit of memory. Very Cam.

• Snacks -
  He’s a foodie through and through. Man can’t cook, but you better believe he can eat.

  The snacks rotate constantly — right now, it’s all about mini Oreos. They’re his lifeblood. He keeps at least three packs in his bag at all times.

• Tangle of wired headphones -
  He tried wireless. They ended up in a puddle.

  One side of this pair has a short, but he refuses to buy new ones. Want to listen to what he’s playing? He’ll give you the good side.

• Small plush bat keychain -
  It’s a nod to the plush MC won him in high school.
  When he’s anxious, he fidgets with it. When he’s gone for days on a shoot, it reminds him someone’s still waiting for him back home.

• Polaroids -
  An absolute mishmash — no two alike. Some are of the sky, some of a dog, one of MC mid-sneeze.

  They’re imperfect, caught in the moment. He adds to them every week — snapshots of friends, little glimpses of the world around him. Not for perfection. Just because they matter.

• Keys -
  So many keys.

  One for Em’s, one for his parents’ house, his old bedroom. One for his current apartment. MC’s old place. MC’s car.

  And one to some old shop that closed down years ago…
  How he got it? He’s not telling. But each one meant something at some point.

• Guitar Pick -

  The first guitar pick he ever gotten, it's a semblance of the path he made for himself in life. It went against what his parents wanted and turns out he's actually good at it.

  As one of the most nostalgic Ro's it's just another thing he carries with him as a reminder of the choices he's made for himself.
