One positive aspect of MC's current relationship status and new room is the freedom to decorate how they want since they didn't have the pleasure of doing so when they were with Chris. That includes having a designated space for a hobby or two. Players can not only choose MC's hobby, but why MC didn't engage in it as much previously.

No Time: MC was too busy previously to focus on their personal interests. Maybe your MC has work as their vice, so they were busy focusing on their career. Or maybe your MC was too busy putting Chris first to do something they enjoyed. Well, no time like the present.
Moving On: MC had a hobby before, and maybe it was one they weren't that passionate about. Either way, MC doesn't want to hold onto anything from their past relationship. Maybe they want to redefine themselves and try out something new.
Fear of Failure: MC has always been passionate about a specific hobby but never pursued it seriously, especially not as a career option, due to self-doubt. Now that they're in a different setting, they can find themselves wanting to at least try something. Even if it's just to pass the time.

Certain hobbies will also give you opportunities to spend time with the ROs (whether platonically or romantically).

If you don't see your favorite hobby on the list feel free to suggest it below. (I'll try to include it before I finish coding.) (Certain hobbies will have sub-choices, for example writing you will be able to choose from a few genres. With art you will get to choose the type of art, etc.)
