This review feels allot like someone who played a couple of hours in the game with a pre-determined viewpoint. Combined with reading up on the hot-button topics and reporting them as facts without actually looking into whether they are true or not.

I love the aesthetic and voice from Frost. The part that is kind of weird to me is that it's called cold take, the take is that it's not for him? All that after performing a kind of detective noir opening and doing a casual review feels hollow. Maybe I'm out of touch and this is what people want but after the opening and with the silky smooth voice of Frost I kind of want something more than a review and a take that it isn't for him. If possible, I would want maybe more of a lean in on the detective noir part. You already take a screen shot of the Steam store page of the game, look at the review and if it's positive, go and find clues or something and be a detective on WHY the reviews are like that. Solve the mystery. I support y'all and wish the best, I'll watch no matter what.

Well, the game just isn't your thing. I can acknowledge the game can seem repetitive. But either you like it or you don't.

Can I just say I unironically love your choice of sponsors? Genuinely original and relevant things that appear relevant to your audience!

Nice to hear someone has the same take on grouping with unknowns. I don't mind being around other players I don't know and passively interacting, but having to group with people I don't know gives me unpleasant anxiety, and I no longer play for my own fun.

This take is hotter than a Hellbomb.

Saying you can pay to skip some kind of grind in helldivers is just blatantly false there is no paywall and nothing can be bought to give one player an edge over another. Even with the premium war bond over 700 credits can be earned from the free pass and the other 300 can very easily be earned through game play.

I respectfully disagree, and I respect you for giving a nuanced opinion that covers positive and negative aspects, rather than following the hype or countering it for the sake of being contraryian

I believe I am enjoying it more than Frost, though all the points are well made. To be fair to both of us, I play less games in general and certainly less of this variety.
Edited for spelling.

I haven't played this game yet, and I find it both incredibly compelling and also repellent at the same time. I'm not looking for a multiplayer shooter, and I don't have friends who would be into it. At the same time, it's SO FUN looking from what I can see.
The general grind of essentially just playing maps in this way doesn't really surprise me. I loved doing that back when it was Unreal Tournament, Day of Defeat, or OG Counter-strike.
I'm really glad for all the people who are having a blast, though. It sounds like this simplicity is precisely what the doctor ordered for a large number of players. The fact that it's probably not for me is really beside the point.
Always love Frost's takes in general, whether I agree with them or not. I usually do, so extra bonus for me.

I enjoyed Frost's nuanced, semi-contrarian take on this game. Thanks for writing!

Frost talking about the micro transactions can "skip the grind" and showing the medal pass is just wrong. The only thing you spend real money on is the items in the super store, which is just a couple pieces of armor. You can't buy your way past anything in the game which is my favorite part
