Victortor

NO to topical or genre. YES to no movies just to make Ellie cry.

Edward Olson

May I again suggest keeping it topical, or genre related. Most of these picks are either all over the place, or the same ones suggested in previous polls. It would also be nice if we knew what type of movies you guys enjoy. I understand the most emotional movies are probably going to get the most views, but Ellie could use a break from those.

Andrew Hogan

Lachrisho

I suggested True Romance as well, such an underrated movie.

Adam B

Did they already do the first one?

Andrew Clifton

I ssee a lot of Goodwill Hunting suggestions on here so I'll go with that. Great movie. Another reaction I would highly recommend is "Juice". Great movie.

Andrew Clifton

Hopefully everybody realizes they should probably suggest popular and successful movies. They aren’t going to get a lot of views watching your favorite indie film that barely made any money.

Andrew Hogan

True Romance The Way of the Gun

Michael Keefer

Wind River 2017 with Jeremy Rennet & Elizabeth Olsen!

Luthanor

I hated the 2017 version of IT. Nothing actually scary, just a series of jump scares.

Edward Olson

The Florida Project will cause Elie to cry a river of tears.

Michael Eberly

Must be Leon (also known as Leon: The Professional or The Professional - Integral Version) in its complete version and not the theatrical release known only as The Professional)

Edward Olson

Those are all good but if they're not familiar with the Robin Hood stories, they should watch 1938's The Adventures of Robin Hood before that one.

Edward Olson

Definitely not, for reasons not including Kevin Spacey and what I suspect is simply a desire to watch Ellie cry.

Edward Olson

Agree with Tremors, Princess bride, and Fifth Element

Edward Olson

Yes to Officer and a Gentleman.

Edward Olson

Good Will Hunting, yes, plus Dead Poet's Society. The Bourne Identity, but none after that The Mission Impossible series could be fun.

Edward Olson

They would watch Primer and say, "What just happened?"

Edward Olson

Ok, my suggestions! If you see one you like, please repeat it in a comment =) * Ex-machina -- Given that Ellie saw the Matrix, she should find this one interesting * Fight club * Good Will Hunting * Gattaca -- I have the feeling Ellie will love this one * IT (2017) Part I -- For any fans of Ellie screaming hahaha

Enemy of the State - Very good movie with Will Smith and Gene Hackman. For some light stuff, Robin Hood - Men in Tights. True Lies is great comedy too.

TaLy___

You absolutely MUST react to Pay It Forward (2000) :)

Dufflepod

I'll second the Jaws recommendation, and add the Mission Impossible movies and the two other John Wick movies you haven't seen yet.

Eik104

The Big Lebowski, Tremors, True Romance, The Princess Bride, American History X, The Fifth Element

Adam B

Here are my picks: * The Outsiders: Young adult coming-of-age drama. Starring C. Thomas Howell, Ralph Macchio, Matt Dillon. Also has Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, and Tom Cruise. Probably go well with flicks like The Breakfast Club and stuff. * Officer and a Gentleman: Drama. Also kind of a coming of age, but the characters are older. Won two Oscars, stars Richard Gere and Louis Gossett Jr. * Kate and Leopold: Time-travel rom com. Not sure what your female audience is, but women should like this one. Well, I like it. Because Hugh Jackman. Also has Meg Ryan. * Man from Snowy River: This is kind of a coming-of-age love story / historical. Family friendly for sure, but definitely more for adults. But it's set in Australia and there's horses. It's one of my alltime faves. * Rob Roy: Historical drama. Liam Neeson, Tim Roth. Multiple awards. One of the best villains EVER IMO. Would go well with a theme including stuff like The Last Samurai and Braveheart.

Arki Kali

Pacific Rim (2013), Good Will Hunting (1997), the Jason Bourne movies, the Mission Impossible movies

Cameron Trail

1) The Count of Monte Cristo starring Jim Caviezel, Guy Pearce, Richard Harris, Luis Guzman, Dagmara Dominczyk, Henry Cavill, and James Frain 2) Frequency starring Jim Caviezel, Dennis Quaid, and Elizabeth Mitchell

Heidi Elizabeth Marcum

The Campaign (2012-HILARIOUS), The Other Guys (2010-Very Funny), Capitalism: A Love Story (Describes the injustices of the system in the US), Sicko (Describes the insanity and indifference of the American Healthcare Industry), Trumbo (2015- Amazing story about a troublesome time in US), Baader Meinhof Complex (2008-Interesting look at the RAF in West Germany during the 70s I believe)... I have this feeling that none of these will be movies anyone will mention but still. Have a look. Most of the movies are good. Especially the ones that are based on true stories.

John Ruggiero
