When you've only got a single microphone to record a mono signal, it's tricky. Two techniques were used as different points. First was using a single mono track, cutting it up and spreading clips across two different tracks with a varying degree of left/right panning on each.
The second technique involves recording one track that's panned right, then playing it back while also recording a second track that's panned left, and speaking in time so they compliment each other.
Importantly, you'll need to listen on headphones to get the full effect.
I'd really love to make more of these so I may invest in a second microphone and accompanying hardware at some point soon. But first, I'm interested in feedback on binaural audio - what do you think? Do you enjoy it? Or is it a distraction from getting immersed?
