Winning Peace - Chapter 6

<Looks around warily.>

Okay, so... I think the power's going to stay on long enough for me to post this time.  My area had a massive storm come through over the weekend and knock out power for a few hours, then last night a transformer down the street blew up.  It's been a pretty wild time and writing has been a challenge.  I'm sorry that this is a bit later than usual, but it's been hell getting this chapter done.

I've already started work on the next Industrious (written on pen and paper by candlelight!) and I have some ideas for the next chapter of Winning Peace, but that'll be a week or two.

We'll see what I manage to get out next.  Probably Industrious, but I'm not completely sure.

In the meantime, thank you for your support.  I couldn't sustain this schedule without all of you.

So, I have to admit that the first 3-4 chapters of this story is a bit meh for me. A good start, and potentially great, but still meh. On the other hand, this interlude chapter makes me really interested. It's really intriguing, when we see an SI from the outside. Especially when he's a tech-based isekai without obvious outward sign of golden finger. Hopefully the electricity in your area get back on soon. Really can't wait for the next chapter. Thank you for this, Slayer. Please keep up the good work.

My guess is that since the Harvest is only around a century away and the only other potential race we know of that could rule the next cycle is the Yog, who are likely not an ideal race to collect data from, as it is likely that their cycle would focus more on exterminating any competition instead of trying to develop new tech or doctrines the Reapers can steal.

Okay, so going through the dialogue of the Illuminati we can infer that they have agents around the world (given their code names are countries) and they likely have immense influence. They seem to want humanity to regress technologically and reduce the population of Earth. This could be another nod at that cult which has oddly prophetic ideas, given the Reapers. So either they want Humanity to enter a dark age, in order to keep their heads down during the harvest or they just want humanity more controllable. Or both.

Matthew Moore

Agreed. The time to stop an Inspired Inventor is early. After that is done then his build up is pretty much inevitable. Wonder what the people who come later are going to think about him. Specially when he stops aging himself. Now that is going to be the mother of all bombs when he drops whatever anti aging method on the world.

Has Ezekiel already ID'd the secret group, or was this a look at some of the challenges coming his way? Also, lol, theybreally have no idea how fast and far he's going now that he's slipped th leash of humanity. Only going to get exponentially more distant as time goes on too.

Flygar

Great, Illuminati that have vague sinister plans for humanity. Can’t wait to see how Ezekiel completely derails those plans.

Im pretty sure he will do something to get the population back up? Maybe a virus that makes sure that woman get more twins when they get pregnant etc. He can bring out serum that stops that a few decats later? Together with something that stops aging?

Those poor smucks on the ground have no idea the actual level the SI operates at do them ? If they knew he is actually only giving them scraps they would be terrified instead of wary. He already is using part of the tech base that gives him straight up total asymetrical advantages with Nanotech and AI. Frankly I am surprised he didn't go for some biotech too. Genetic engineering and all that tech tree. Suppose that comes later after he moves society closer to post scarcity. I am curious what ezekiel's endgame is going to be like here. And when exactly is the greater mass effect universe going to come into play (shadowy cabals with plans are just business as usual).
