Question of the Week: April 14th, 2022

Last week's question was a lively one, and I don't know about you, but I discovered some great new music as a result. Let's see if we can keep the fun going this week!

Entertainment-related questions seem to be pretty popular, so we'll stay in that lane this week, just with a different medium.

Here's this week's question:

๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ What movie did you think you would absolutely hate, but ended up loving, and why? What movie did you think/hope you would love, but end up hating? ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Okay, y'all know what to do! Have fun and I'll see you in the comments!

Question of the Week: April 14th, 2022

Comments

Okay, so, I didn't think I'd hate it, but I went into Arcane, the league of legends animated show on Netflix, with really low expectations and it ended up being the best thing I've watched in years.

As always, some fantastic answers this week! Let's see, what are mine? Hmmm... Okay, I'll admit, I was fully expecting to hate the updated versions of Stephen King's "It." I'm a huge fan of the original (Tim Curry as Pennywise - love it!) and the book is at the top of my re-read list, so I was not expecting to be open to loving the new ones, more because of my own bias than because of anything I'd heard about the movies themselves. When the time came to watch the first part, I was glued to the screen the entire time and immediately wanted to watch it again. The wait for the second part was horribly long, and when it was finally released, I had the same experience as with the first one. I was very happily proven wrong and ended up loving the update almost as much as the original. As for a movie I thought I would love and ended up hating, I have to say The Hobbit trilogy. "Hate" is probably too strong a word here, but I was not happy with it at all. The book holds a special place in my heart, and I was actually excited when I heard Peter Jackson was going to work his magic with it the way he did with Lord of the Rings. Yeah, no. I deliberately stayed away from spoilers and details that were leaked and went in completely blind. The first one was okay, not terrible, but the second and third were a whole other story. I was completely disappointed. After awhile, I was able to separate the book from the movies and they were okay as "just movies," if I convinced myself they had nothing to do with the book and were just intended to be prequels to the LOTR movies. Otherwise, nope. A huge thanks to everyone who has answered! This was a fun one! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ
