excuse any typos~ I do have some disability with reading words ~ yh... you bet your celestial dabloons cpu has took herself on a holiday to school 2 get educated on taking a break and not make art.... I believe I burnt out~ and have been burnt out since several years ago~ and I've never fully recovered from it because I never took a deep enough rest~ whoops~ so I'm doing that right now...... I'm trying to 'graduate' and become a more mature artist~ I needed some self-discipline honey.
When I hear a melody in my head now, I just ask myself how can I transmute it? In the past, I used to generally think, "i'm hearing music, it means I have to make music to accompany x y and z"... but now I think "I'm hearing music, I have to distill it down and transmute it into the visual" and the same for anything else....
I have always known my 'one' is the eye.
Well anyways, im still on holiday, and I'm eyeballing the manga/comic format if I pursue 'storytelling' again ~ When I feel my burnt out is healed, I'm planning to throw myself into drawing/composition and pretty much little else ~ story if I can manage~ I penned out some storyboards and I ended up just crying again~ I'll take it as a good sign ... I've changed my workspace to become more visually focused~ and that means basically, all my sound equipment are put away... no sound card, no speakers~ I am usually just earplugs now because it seems to help me tune in better. This animation artist said animators shouldn't listen to music when working, Im sure so many people would argue that's foolish to say, but I kinda get where they are coming from~ it's not always a 100percent thing~ I have noticed there are times where music can just introduce a bunch of noise which can be incompatible with certain modes of drawing....
